Hard crashing PC locks up
" Just want to add that I am having the same experience. Closing the game, and play it again in a second session without restarting the PC, will cause the crash more often. So what I do now is, always restart PC for new POE2 gameplay session, turn off 2 CPU cores in affinity when booting up the game when GGG logo shows up (sometimes I get crashes too at the loading screen after GGG logo) |

Before patch, started fine.
After patch, login from character and CTD. Please fix. |

No idea if the new patch has made things worse as I've no desire to start the game but if you want avoid hard locks then turn off multi threading during loading. This means in the options between zones and also in the configuration ini file if it's it's enabled at startup.
I run a batch script to disable it in the event I left it enabled when starting the game. It also deletes the shader cache folders but I'm not sure this is needed. Enjoy doing that for the next couple of weeks if not more if you must play. Last edited by Jellzy#0343 on Dec 17, 2024, 8:48:09 PM

I had this problem before the patch. Switched to Vulcan and never saw the problem again. Now it's back again. It freezes the entire PC. Before I had to restart the PC manually, now it's shutting down and re-starting on its own after a while.

" Tried this, and crashed on second load. This does not work for me. |

Having the same issue with my Ryzen 7 7800x3d and 4070ti super. Almost always crashes loading into new zone.

Same here hard crash every other loading screen. Today after update I got it as soon as the GGG logo faded. I hoped this would be thing they fix as top priority and not some balancing. Shame that the game is soo good but has this issue. Probably will refund since it does not work.

I think it is time for us to not contain ourselves in these 2 threads and spill over to [POE 2] Bugs thread. Maybe when they see the added 400 pages there they will start to care.

Disabling hardware gpu scheduling in windows graphics settings solves the problem
Since i changed this on my PC i can play without any crashes. I tried all the solutions people posted and this was the only one that worked |
