Hard crashing PC locks up

After I reinstalled my Windows, likely due to corrupted data from multiple restarts, the game finally worked for me for two days. Today, I noticed a hotfix in my downloads. But the first time I tried opening the game after that, it completely froze again. Great. I'm back to square one.

Can mods please lock this thread. People are incompetent and cant read. It is not a PoE issue, GGG cant do anything about it. Last time, it is Windows 11 24h2 issue. If youre not on 24h2, your PC is just instable for countless other reasons. Everything was said about how you can fix it. Please lock this thread.

This is either a troll or someone who struggles with simple tasks. There are countless posts of people with 23H2 that are also crashing. I am one of them.

Looks like you're the incompetent one, MKDR.
duplicate, pls disregard.

This is honestly starting to look like a cashgrab.

I mean, 30$ for early access to a game that will be F2P is obviously a cashgrab, but the fact that they can't solve this problem isn't really connected to that.

Please do not make troll posts. The $30 is not a cash grab. You get the same amount of in game currency that you would normally get for that price and if you play the game for any modicum of time you will buy it anyway if not simply for the stash tabs which are necessary for gameplay for even a moderately active player over the long term. Every level of supporter pack gives you at least the same amount of in game currency you would normally get for that price and as you go up you get larger and larger extra rewards that you would not get during full release.

On the other hand yes they need to fix the crashes. I to am frustrated with crashing 10 to 15 times during a play session. But stop predicating that the money is a "Cash Grab" You get exactly what you would normally get for the same price, You get to play a game at least 6 months to a year before its actual release, And you get gifts that scale with the amount of your contribution that cannot be gotten any other way

You are missing a key point in your logic.

Here you state:
"You get the same amount of in game currency that you would normally get for that price and if you play the game for any modicum of time you will buy it anyway if not simply for the stash tabs which are necessary for gameplay for even a moderately active player over the long term."

Your mistake is that you are ignoring the fact that we would not have bought in-game systems for a game we can't play.

By saying "if you play the game for any modicum of time" and mentioning "active player over the long term" you are actually mentioning it yourself but the cognitive dissonance blinds you from realizing this.

Who would buy >30$ stuff from a game they cannot play without crashing constantly?

I noticed that if I close the window instead of closing the game traditionally the next time I run poe2 it will freeze
Please everyone, take your time and report PoE2 on steam. This way we can at least get refunds and steam might add that warning about potential hardware damage.

You might be on to something... Can anyone else confirm this? If crashes are also count in this then opening the game after a crash will cause another crash.

(At this point we have tried everything so what is one more attempt?)
Ok, I have the same problem as all the people here!
Full system crash on loading screens. And this is the problem: I don't care so much if your client/game crashes. But the whole system is a 2024, for god's sake!
I don't want to even start on what this can cause to some systems.
So I try not to be negative and read all comments. But you guys/GGG are taking a piss. It has been 10 days with this.
I get the feeling with all the Early access and bugs and stuff, but this is just ridiculous.
If you charge money, you have to bring service. Remember that.
So you don't sleep or eat until this is fixed. Why is it taking so long? At least give us an explanation why you keep us in the dark, and you have 1000s of logs already.

It's a shame GGG... shame!

I've been trying to find a good way to toggle Engine Multithreading in game without having to manually go into the menu. That would make it easier to transition between areas without crashing.

Editing the config file %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\poe2_production_Config.ini while playing doesn't work. That isn't surprising as games typically keep those config settings in memory.

The brute force method would be to write a simple AutoHotkey macro to toggle Engine Multithreading, but I am leery of doing so considering that this is a live service game and it might trigger VAC or something, even an automation as basic as that.

There are no keystrokes available to navigate the menus without a mouse cursor so far as I can tell.

This isn't a particularly useful post, but if anyone out there knows how to force the game to reread the poe2_production_Config.ini file then we could cook up an easier way to go about transitioning from one area to another without having to go into the Options menu. Many people are able to get by with CPU affinity and such, but many are forced to toggle the multithreading every single time. And that has to be a massive pain.

Not sure if you're in EU, but here you can get a refund until two weeks from purchase if the thing you bought is literally unusable. I was able to refund the game with 17 hours played when it started crashing.
