Hard crashing PC locks up

Reported the game on steam. There are people who lost their PCs to this...

I'm sure something will happen this week. I'd give it another week. Unless GGG have already gone off for holiday vacations. Otherwise, or even so, I'm sure we'll at least get a written status update from them on the situation.

Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't, though. Not much faith.

REPORT THE GAME ON STEAM

If you are like me and are exhausted of this issue, you can report the game on the Steam store. GGG doesn't appear to be taking this issue seriously, and they do not deserve your hard earned money without at the VERY LEAST communicating to those of us with these problems.

Go to the POE2 store page:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2694490/Path_of_Exile_2/

Scroll down to where the right hand panel ends, and click the Flag icon to report the game. (Report the Product)

Then add additional information and submit.

Reported the game. This is insane, game shouldn't be on Early Access.

+1 going over a week with no communication on something like this is wild especially with thousands of people having the issue, luckily shroud said on stream its freezing his PC too so maybe they will start to care
I had all the same issues, freezing multiple times per day since launch on a 5800x, I did the following yesterday and not had a single crash or issue since

I couldn't even alt tab without the game bugging out, I'm not sure which step fixed it for me but hopefully this helps someone..

1. Updated motherboard to the latest bios
2. Updated chipset drivers directly from amd

Open cmd as administrator

3. Run command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

4. Finally run command:
sfc /scannow

When I ran these corrupted files were found and repaired, with all above game has been flawless since!

I'm glad some of this random shit works for you guys but I already had the most up to date bios lol. I already had current chipset drivers and no corrupted files. None of that is the core issue causing the crashes.
still having these at least once or twice per day
This issue is a CPU-sided issue where it locks your PC mainly because POE2 messes up with your CPU utilisation. Many of the games I play can stress my CPU well enough to 100% most of the times, but POE2 is a special case when it comes to loading screens freezing my entire PC.

I've reported this on steam, everyone else who's having this issue go on and report POE2 on steam for being a broken product.
I updated my PC this friday night before going to sleep because the PC asked me for updates, then I just went to my girlfriend's house for a couple days, just came back and started the PC like normal and the first time I load into a map, boom, the game completely froze while loading the zone and froze my computer too, so I had to reset the entire thing.

It didn't happen for a couple of maps then again, loading and entire pc froze.

I guess it's because the goddamm Windows 24H2 thing, but now what? I can't play the game? lol I don't want to hard reset my PC every 3-4 maps.

So I guess I can't play anymore until this gets fixed, oh well...

4080super and 7800x3d btw.

Here's an update. I rolled a new character a few days ago, but today I decided to try and play without turning off multithreading at all. I played 5-6 hours without any freezing during load screens. I thought it was because I hadn't made it back to the point of the game that started the freezing for me, but I just past that a couple of hours ago. I've received all of the patches and hotfixes and windows update says everything is up to date. Unfortunately I can't pinpoint any exact change. I'll report back if I have any more crashes/lock ups.

I do want to reiterate that I was ONLY getting lock ups during loading screens. I'm wasn't experiencing any other crashes.

This issue happens to me only when loading between zones. Other than that, the game has never crashed. It randomly started after about 5 hours into the game with zero issues. Maybe it was an update or hotfix. I can't be sure. This is likely old information, but here's what consistently works for me.

Turning off Multi-threading right before teleporting or waypoint fast traveling (anything that requires the loading screen with the two gears).

After loading in, I turn multi-threading back on and continue playing at high FPS.

I know it's tedious, but it always works for me.

i have the exact same issue, and i'm also just waiting for a fix until i'm playing again.. really unfortunate

i'm on 9800x3d and 3060ti personally.

i already had to go through repair mode once after resetting my pc and i don't want to risk any potential damage to my pc while this isn't fixed :(
