Open Nvidia Control Panel Open 3D Settings
Go to App specific settings, choose POE (64 and the other)
At the bottom of the list change the Vulkan/OpenGL thing to DXGI Swapchain
In game, change DX12 to Vulkan

Crashes are gone. No need to mess with SMT or Process Lasso

Thanks. No crushes since yesterday. That has fixed the issue for me.

Rtx 3060 12gb
Ryzen 5 3600
32gb ram
Nvme ssd

I couldnt even start the game cause of instantly crash but after i did this i can open the game and play a bit.
CPU usage around %30-45 and at loading screens max %70-80 but i played like 15 mins and 3-4 times can use teleport.
Then i realized my CPU TEMPS in 10 min going up around 90C and in last loading screen i saw 99C and usage %90. İ didnt get any crash but the overheating issue is crazy sadly i cant play like this.
One more thing i felt like game was a bit slow not like suttering tho.
Today I can't start the game. The PC just reboots almost instantly. Yesterday everything was fine, and I have 60+ hours played: never had any issue during that.

Today that started happening, I just open EXE: instant or almost instant crash happens. Tried Steam and Native client (fresh downloaded). Deleted Path of exile 2 from %appdata%. Tried different ways — still crash. Reinstalled Nvidia drivers. Everything.

PC just reboots. Instantly. On other Windows (on separate SSD) on that computer — game launches. Cyberpunk, WoW, and other stuff like furmark, cinebench and others — work w/o issues.

I don’t know what is that, really. Issue started only today, yesterday I've had zero issues… and today I can’t start poe2. No updates, or something: it just started all of a sudden.

Windows 11 Pro
23H2 (22631.4602)

Probably due to windows update.

Checked Windows update history: didn't find anything. Very strange. Every other game works.
Someone on steam claims that he downloaded the latest Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One November update and that this update fixed crashes.

Anyone tried the latest Nov 13th 2024 update ?
I think it's been mentioned a couple times previously, but want to add my experience as well. Closing out of the "Nvidia" app from the system tray immediately resolves this issue for me. I'm still running process lasso just in case but went a full day of playing with no load screen freezes after closing that application before starting up the game.
PC lockup in loading screen. Have to restart PC. I solved so that I crash to desktop by running Dx12, Vsync, NVIDIA DLSS, Windowed Fullscreen, FPS CAP 100 and setting Affinity CPU off on 0 and 1 for Path Of Exiles (go to taskmanager, details, right click the pathofexiles.exe --> set affinity --> remove 0 and 1).

The problem seem to be that PoE 2 locks upp all your CPUs when crashing, leaving nothing left for the computer itself. Doing this alows the computer to have 2 as backup when crashing and therefore it crashes to the desktop and dont destroy your computer.

The culprit is most definitely Win 11 24H2. Had this happen with several games (twice with PoE 2), and everytime it was when I had just installed the 24H2 update. And when I reroll to 23H2 I never have any issue.

So until Microsoft gets their finger out of their ass and fix this, just roll back the 24H2 update.

I dont think this is the case. I am on 23H2 and have crashed since Day 1

Looks like latest version online is 14.42.34433.0

If that's your version # in the Control Panel\Programs and Features list, you should already have it.

(I'm still crashing with that installed on my end.)
Windows 11 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD
During act II, I started having random in-game freezes that took a few seconds to come back. I was on an AMD 6600xt and tweaked the settings a lot lower than standard but never saw it go better. Looking at the stats on the top right of the screen it seemed to be lag spikes (network Ms going randomly up) so I thought it was a network issue. Never checked the temps as I wasn't aware of this issue. Suddenly in act III the PC died. It won't turn on anymore. I think my HX750 with 4y of use is dead. Can't say about the rest of the hardware as I don't have a spare PSU to test, will send to testing tomorrow.

Just a maybe important information: I was using my PSU in multiple rails mode
