Hard crashing PC locks up

I've been having this issue occasionally along with the D3d12 issue as well.
I have a 9800x3d, 3070, and 64gb of ram, ddr5 6000 (xmp).
I attempted turning off xmp and x3d mode and the hard crashes became more frequent. Not to mention on loading screens and in just normal game conditions, my system runs much hotter. With x3d mode on my cpu package sits at 45c in loading screens if it does go higher than 45, it will hit 50c-52c. With x3d mode off however. If I'm lucky the system will drop below 50c and on loading screens we are talking approaching and occasionally exceeding 70c. The 9800 has been tested to run at 95c at full load for hours so I'm not too concerned, but its odd behavior.
I wish I could get a steam refund. Unfortunately my first few hours ran great, crashes started happening between 4-9 hours played, probably a dozen or so. I applied for a refund and was denied. I’ve never felt more robbed purchasing a form of media entertainment in my life and I’ve bought many iterations of Destiny and call of duty, neither of which hard crashed my pc requiring a reset. It’s unbelievable there has been no communication on this issue and tbh I don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon.

GGG caught a fat bag with the 30$ price point just in time to take a holiday. This issue is going to linger into mid to late January imo, maybe even longer at this rate.

My alternative is to play on my i7 9750h gaming laptop with an RTX2060 and the performance is downright pitiful. 20 fps in towns, 40 fps in fights when a lot of enemies are on screen and I’ve downscaled everything to the lowest settings. Never seen anything like it. Last epoch and Diablo run beautifully on both my laptop and my desktop 9800X3D 4080 super. This game is an utter disaster performance wise. Early access or not, I’ve never seen such a poorly optimized game. I considered buying it on ps5 but I came to find you’re lucky to get 55 fps on that thing and you have to downscale heavily to even reach that. Total disaster and I wish I could get my money back.

Game Crash when I click Play my monk

My lvl 19 Monk was following the quest line to go to Mawdun Quarry. Right after clicking on the gate to go there, I crashed on the loading screen, game shut down entirely. I tried to play my monk multiple time but the game just crashs.

I can play my other mercenary character with no issue but when ever I try to play my monk the game crash.

I tried changing the settings around but nothing helped. I restarted the game multiple times but did not help.

I need help to solve this issue or I won't be able to continue with the campaign with my monk.

And now, after the last crash, my laptop won’t start even after many hard resets. The keyboard lights up but the screen won’t turn on. It shuts down after a minute? What can I try here?

Try holding down your power button for 10 seconds. And see if it boots up any differently.

I had to do that on my PC to get my Bluetooth driver working again after my system crashed with POE2 a couple days ago. My PC crashes and none of my BT devices, like my mouse, would work. Then I saw there was NO BT device present. Somehow the system disabled it when POE2 crashed.

It was still there as a hidden device though - the Forced Shutdown and then a cold boot fixed it.

Some of these hard crashes can causes UEFI error with the mobo, and the mobo keeps seeing a crash-state when Windows tries to boot, so it wont POST.

But the hard shutdown (10 second Power button press ) fixed it. For me anyway.

It did start after holding the power button down longer. Did wierd stuff like updating bios prior to woking. Now I’m done for sure. Incompetent idiots.

I can't send PMs due to not having a character above level 25 in the game...

Do these as well:
IF you are using SSD: Use your SMART software to check for damages. Each SSD generally has its own software for it. In SMART the user can see "Reallocated Sectors" which indicate the number of bad sectors replaced with spare sectors. "Wear Leveling Count" which shows how much wear the SSD has experienced. "Uncorrectable Errors" which shows read/write errors that cannot be corrected. And "Percentage Lifetime Used" shows how much of the SSD's life span has been consumed.

If you are using HD or have them: Use "chkdsk /r"

Use "sfc /scannow".

If you have sensitive data, back it up. If the capacitors or MB went bust the PC might die in a couple of days.

If your laptop starts to shutdown with no reason, take it to the service and tell them that you are suspecting a capacitor issue. (Hopefully your laptop's warranty is not void due to type of error. They might say customer fault.)
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. I apologize for any unanswered messages.

Funny that you say that.

I noticed that it only happens with my Warrior too.

Could it be character/zone related?

How do you know that they didn't check any DxDiag?

I see access history in Google Drive (since there is no way to attach files directly in PMs; at least I didn't find one).

I had to just cut and paste it.
Hi, I thought maybe telling what I did will help others.

First of all, my PC is new-built.

RTX 4070 Ti
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32GB Corsair RAM
AsRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi

My PC froze, since the beginning of the Early Access and I was worried that something is wrong with my hardware. But by testing other games and letting a friend of mine run PoE 2 too, with a similar rig to mine, I knew that there is no hardware issue on my side.

addressing the dude, that tells everyone their RAM is broken and PoE 2 is the only way to find out, like a deep-check, if something is wrong with it. No, it definitely isn't a RAM issue, maybe some rare cases do get these errors cause of their hardware, but majority isn't.

MY SOLUTION (?):

Since that friend of mine crashed and he told me he is on Windows 11 23H2, I didn't believe that downgrading to 23H2 will fix the problem. I read that a lot of people said this happened since a while now, also in PoE 1.

Keeping that in mind, I decided to go for 22H2, I got the ISO from UUP dump. If some of you are willing to try the same, there are several guides out there on how to build the ISO file. Since my PC was still pretty "clean" - trying wasn't an issue.

I flashed an USB Stick with Rufus with the 22H2 ISO-File and re-installed my Windows, deleting everything. If you do the same, keep in mind to disconnect your ethernet cable, otherwise Windows will automatically try to go for 23H2 (Happened to me once, had to re-install again)

After installing Windows, all I did was downloading the drivers from NVIDIA (the latest) - the AMD Chipset Drivers, LAN/Bluetooth/WiFi Drivers restarted my PC and downloaded PoE 2. I didn't touch any of the game settings, I just tried my luck and I "stresstested" restarting PoE, like 15 times. Loading from Waypoint to Waypoint, switching areas and no PC freeze. I had discord running and Opera GX, also no freeze.

Since then everything is running fine and AFAIK the only problem is everything loading-related, being in an area and playing never caused a freeze, atleast for me and some others.

!IDK if this is important for anyone, but because it's working right now, I'm not running Wallpaper Engine anymore and I didn't try yet. I'm really unsure at the moment what exactly causes this problem to happen. Need to test this out more.

Will edit my post, if the freeze returns magically, fingers-crossed that it stays like that. I'm happy to help some of you out and will post this on other threads and reddit.

I'll post my game settings here, that automatically came with starting the game, maybe this will help some of you:
