Cold Chronomancer Megathread (WIP). CoF nerfed. Very slow gameplay now.

so CoX is nerfed this hard BUT
Cast on minion death is not nerfed at all lol.

se we could do like:
use flame wall or smth
summon raging spirit
cast on minion death comet

supplement it with frost bomb and frost wall for single target.
Aight did some testing, this combo seems to work, does require some uniques:

- Dusk Vigil Ashen Staff
- Blueflame Bracers Goldcast Cuffs

What Dusk vigil does is casts Ember fussilade on SPELL CAST
Blueflame converts fire to cold

So you can link scattershot, it gives you 3 per cast, and I'm testing out chain to have it jump around the mobs.

Still trying to figure out what the best ability to cast is, tried eye of winter and it sucked, maybe frostbolt something?

Anyone got any other recommendations?

Tried Ignite Flameblast with Frostfire support with the Searing Touch - that sucks (took most of ignite nodes).

Tried Blueflame Bracers - was a bit better with a default cold tree, however flameblast is just inferior to the comet.

Will try Flame Wall ignite delivery on a Fireball or smth a bit later, gtg for now.

Why I so hard on ignite - there are prolif and explode supports.

Not sure about other fire spells.

Anyway, need 100k Gold more to check lightning spells.

Since we don't need nearly that much mana for CoF.

Though I also remember you guys saying that energy shield is bad currently, can I ask why?
im out guys. fck this shit. at lvl 72 with +6 to lvl gems from gear my comet dealt like 9k dmg i think.

i just saw monk with 32k instant spamable skill.

gl with chrono and frost spells lol. god job ggg.

same thing was with PoE1. some chars were just better than other. chrono is dead for solo play. i think it will be just a support character

to make ES good, you need to heavily invest in it.

PoE1 had 123 passives.
you were kindof expected to invest 20% or so into life.. or ES.

poe2 has more travel nodes. everything is about 20% further..
9 points from witch to templar in outer ring in 1, 11 points in 2.
everything is like this..

almost as if they took the life off the tree, and gave you more HP per level instead... which they did.

however, consider the implication. if you get LIFE for free, you don't get ES for free. poe1, you could take those points you would have previously invested into life, and put them into ES recharge, and max es, etc when building ES.

can't do that here. get free life, but still need to spend more points just moving around the tree.

ES is not well supported thus, as you need to invest heavily into recharge, etc. I don't think always regen ES is even an option. that was Occultist.
(zealots oath I think can)

so I dont think ES works as a primary defense in poe2. since it won't recharge while taking damage. mana does regen. so using EB to convert it to mana, and taking the damage taken from mana nodes however is an option.
EB wasn't just for comet spam, it was also to become immortal with "damage is taken from mana".

There are also multiple "damage scales with max mana" passives and skills.

The big caveat. Temporal rift. it resets energy shield. when I was arguing against ES, I was not considering Temporal rift. Temp rift builds likely can make use of ES as is.

I noticed there hasnt been some mention of persistent buff for a bit.

I am still in Act 2 but I find using Ghost Dance and energy shield+evasion on gear helps staying alive alot easier. Especially if new to the class.

I use a robe that has +spirit on it which gives extra. But what I am using is:

Ghost Dance: Clarity + Vitality
