Cold Chronomancer Megathread (WIP). CoF nerfed. Very slow gameplay now.

Time to reroll, chronomancer sounded cool. but the lack of decent cooldown skills to reset menas it really isnt viable.

Been playing coop with a witch hunter, that i just about could keep up with in clear speed with the comets at the end of act 3. now i just watch as he runs around and detonates entire screens while i cant even keep up with him if theres a pack of whites that he misses :/

My chronomancer is dead once i complete the last zone in act 3 :( A stormweaver is just superior in every way.

I've ran a few maps, very slow gameplay now. Back to detonating frost walls.

Comet-CoF is still good vs bosses.

Clear is the problem. I'm very safe but very slow.

Current idea - make use of secondary passive tree on a weapon:

a) 2 Cold trees.

Use freezing build-up tree (to freeze shit around for safety) and damage tree (either crit or pen to nuke whatever still alive after frost wall detonations). We have 24 points to play with. Don't have enough gold to play with. Need 100k atm.

Frostbolt is useless now, time to get back to freezing shards.

b) Cold and other element. We can do it within 24 weapon set passives. Can utilize Elemental Conflux somehow. Problem here - we are very limited to a number of possibly usable skills. 11 skills in total:
- 2 staff skills
- Blasphemy
- 8 remaining.

Before the release I was thinking about frostfire combo, but not sure. What element has the best clear w/o trigger skills?

Made a new char for this build and it seemed fun. At maps tho is it still fun; are the nerfs that bad?
Build has become borderline unusable now.
I tried a few setups with Frostwall for clear now, but in A2Cruel it basically does no damage.
I really don't know if this Build is salvageable.

Right now it isn't as strong in mapping as it once was since this effectively neutered its wave clear for faster mapping. You can still map but it is quite slow and methodical, since you're mostly using Frost Bomb + Frost wall to group and clear.

But people are trying to figure out how make this work so just consider it a WIP.

The problem is the way the game built right now with such a straightforward progression. So nerfing the Cast on "x" row affects other rows as well which were meant to synergize with it. Honestly, just piece meal balancing isn't so good when everything is so structured around the few choices we have available from the skill gem tiers.

I would wait until we have a skill that truly synergizes with chronomancer now.
I think the HotG looked cool but the pathing is downright bad and cold, well.....
