Supporter Pack Shipping Cost

Shipping cost to Germany is 80$, what is one of the highest if seen yet and i buy very often stuff at LRG (Limited Run Games). The stuff there, was bigger than a Shirt+Hoody+Book and the highest i payed was 69,49$ for shipping + duties + taxes alltogether.

If in your shipping cost the duty and taxe were included, it still is too much or are you saying the physical stuff costs about 200$ - 230$ ?

BUT!!! you are already stating that duty and taxes are NOT included in the shipping fee.

"
Your local country may charge you additional customs fees or duties when the physical goods arrive. We have no control over these fees, unfortunately.

And THIS is hilarious and you know why ?

the total for shipping to germany with all in it (shipping + duty + taxes) can go UP TO !! 266.37$ !!
IF you are not declaring the prices of the Shirt, Hoodie and Artbook, Customs will most likely use the 480$ Price from the SupporterPack to calculate the duty and Taxes. And even if you say/declare the physical stuff costs 80$ total, it is still 133$ for shipping duty taxes ....

spending more than 50% only for shipping .... no sorry thats to much, and i already invested 5 digits into PoE (yeah yeah whale yadayada, i am still under 1$/h played so shut it).
so this isnt a "i dont have the money"-problem .... its a "thats just unreasonable"-Problem for me.

Please GGG overthink your shipping prices or at least put the duty/taxes into the shipping price!

Thanks for reading.

I was looking for this information, thanks alot for sharing here.

I will not buy a supporter pack this time then and wait if this ridiculous ripp-off by their new partner will change. It is more of a principle for me.

If not I will probably buy a smaller pack just to support, if POE2 turns out to be playable for me.
Almost 80$ shipping to France... I am not paying that, sorry.

Same, I was in the process of buying the last tier pack because I really like art books, but cancelled when I saw the shipping cost.
There's no way I spend 80$ on shipping when customs could also add a cost on it.

I already spent more than the threshold so I can access the game on the 6th, it's not like I NEED to buy a pack.
If this is not changed before the early access start then I'll simply won't buy anything.

Really shooting yourselves in the foot here GGG.

E: Would it work if I buy the second highest without physical items and then upgrade to the highest taking physicals?

when i remember correctly, i tried this 3 years ago i think, this doesnt work. maybe they changed it, but honestly i doubt this will work.

Maybe someone from GGG could answer this here? Thanks
Songs are like knights. They need to be covered in metal.
Need to pay $94.10 shipping cost just for the hoodie and book. Almost paying for a 2nd King of the Faridun supporter pack.

EDIT 1:
Just checked how much it would be for only the hoodie which was $44.27, so shipping the book is $49.83.

EDIT 2:
Decided to get the hoodie and now checking the shipping cost for the book, the $49.83 is incorrect. It somehow increased to $64.26.

WHERE THE F did the extra $14.43 come from!?

I know it makes very little logical sense, but humans are very illogical creatures, and having an addon cost pop up after choosing to spend money on a supporter pack feels really really bad. ( any gamedesigner with some psychology can probably write an essay about the "why" )

On top of that the whole thing is still themed as "support" right, and the merch used to be perceived as a visible badge and a "thank you" for said support. Being asked to drop another 60€ on top of the message that "if you don't get physical good you can have X amount of points" that suggests that we are already paying for the Physical product is not a good strategy.

(( Like, I get it, import taxes need to be covered, and maybe your distributor doesn't have the most efficient warehouse situation to ship form central locations globally, while the shipping cost can be a bit ridiculous that's likely not something you have any control over, and the logic behind not wanting to make everyone pay the average total amount of shipping cost incurred is also sound when I look at how extreme it can get with some countries... ))

The pure logic of it is really not the issue. The issue is the "feel" of it.

if you struck the message about the points we could have instead from the top the page, and rolled the shipping cost into a total at the end that was like "you can have a physical goodie for X or instead get xy points" kind of binary choice, that would likely feel a lot better. Alternatively I think, a link to a blogposts explaining why you did it the way you did it, and I'm assuming here, that you realize this isn't great, might at least change the emotions of it a little bit.

Right now the process of buying one of those packs just feels a lot worse then it used to.
seems so weird to me how clothing size can significantly up the shipping cost.

for 2X shipping to USA is ~20

for 3X shipping to USA is closer to ~70 ... this is more expensive than shipping a LARGE box with anime figures in them from Japan via DHL... I have to question where that significant additional cost is coming from.

I went with a size lower than what will be comfy since I am steadily losing weight and will be able to wear it eventually
It feels like there is a mistake in the shipping calculation to Australia..

If you just get the t shirt, shipping is $40USD, if you go up a tier to the hoodie it is $132? how can it possibly be $92USD to ship a hoodie??? then up another tier and the art book only adds $10
The final pack converts to over $950 AUD... I'm keen to support but this is outrageous
There is just no way to explain this.

Something is borked in their system I believe...

I did some testing:
- t-shirt only package, to my location (EU/Hungary)
160usd + shipping (taxes not included)
16.46 shipping for all sizes EXCEPT for size L (tested up to 2XL)
shipping for L costs 26.84

- t-shirt and hoodie package
240usd + shipping (taxes not included)
31.31 shipping for S/S, S/M and M/M (t-shirt/hoodie)
26.84 ! for L/M
27.29 ! for L/L
31.31 again for bigger size combos (tested up to 2XL)

- book + clothing package
480usd + shipping (taxes not included)
85.84 shipping for all sizes (tested up to 2XL)

So, conclusions:
- shipping with the book costs 50bucks more than shipping just the hoodie and the shirt.
- shipping the hoodie costs nothing, if one of the items is of size L :) - there really is something wrong there in the calculations
- Shipping costs with the book included is just totally broken and given everything else I'm not at all sure the calculations are even working right.

In general, shipping for the clothing items I might even consider reasonable.. even if not cheap.

Overall I still believe, that if you make a supporter pack costing 500 bucks with physical goodies as incentives and then can't "hide" the shipping cost in the price of that package, there's something seriously wrong on your end and your sales managers should need their heads looked at.

As in: you should be more than able to cover whatever shipping for that book (and the rest of the physical goods) is with the extra 240 bucks you make on me buying the biggest package and then some.

Or, at the very least be very VERY meticulous and reasonable with your shipping costs. The last thing you want is for people to start to wonder when they are on the "finalize purchase" screen because some shipping technicalities.

This was exactly what happened to me while checking out on $480 pack and why I currently stopped at $100 pack. Waiting for an official statement from GGG on this...
