POE 2 early access paywall

This is funny. It comes from someone that has bought (at least) x3 $60 bucks Supporter Packs, and a $160 bucks one.

Those packs have nothing to do with POE 2 or its beta. Please don't get sidetracked. We're not talking about POE 1 here.

If you don't spend $1,000+ on a game, you are not a gamer. IN fact, they should give all players who spent $1,000+ dollars a free key if not 2.

Quite a few people here tend to get hung up about certain dollar figures and their appropriateness, however the amounts are irrelevant. Whether the beta entrance fee is $30 or $3 or 3 cents it still doesn't make sense in principle.

Guys, it's very simple: a free-to-play game should have a free public beta.

Are you aware that things like free-to-play, beta, alpha, 1.0 are just totally made-up concepts and every developer uses these terms however they like?
What's FREE TO PLAY even mean? If I will log to menu, AM I playing to you?
Nothing is really free.

Is not the B company, therefore its more than worth it. GGG can take everything from me and I know they will take care of it. Can't wait for dec 6th!
Just a question for payers: do you have the tabs and mtx from poe1?
$1000 spent over 11,000 hours played over 10 years. $0.09 per hour for fabulous entertainment and fun. IIRC I played about 6 months before I spent $20 on 200 points. I expect a free key to EA and will likely buy a second.

If I spend 5 hours a day playing, the $.45 USD is certainly worth it.

I'm buying the 480 pack and am more than happy to do so. GGG has provided me with my favorite game of all time with POE 1 and they are about to do it again. Thanks GGG!

No. There's no rule that says so and the notion itself reeks of entitlement.

First of, the game is not yet released. POE1 is free to play. POE2 is planned to follow suit, but until it is released for free, it's not free to play.

So check your expectations and accept the fact, that while the game might become free to play, at the moment it... is... not... It costs 30 bucks or a certain total lifetime spending demonstrating continued support for the franchise.

No amount of twisting words will change that. Their product, their rules.

If you disagree, you can always cast your vote with your wallet.

Those points are worth nothing. You can't trade them, you can't sell them, you can't even refund them. They have no value. They are just part of a larger inherently predatory system.

In all fairness, when it comes to the free to play MTX system, GGG is one of the few white hatters on the market. They don't sell you power, the only convenience they sell are the stash tabs and frankly even those are generally more than fair compared to similar offerings from others.

I really don't understand the whining over their model. I despise MTX, but even I support GGG for their way of doing it is about the only way I find reasonable and acceptable.

Would it be better if we could just buy game and be forced to buy DLCs and expansions every few months? Dunno... In a sense, many of us still do. This way however, people who can't afford them have the option of experiencing the game without doing that.
