First, there is a finite amount of setup for the system. You need the NPC to act as the onramp. You need the offramp. But other than that its almost all already setup with endless delve and endless ledge leagues. They have the code base.

Second, they're going to make more leagues. More leagues means more league mechanics. As I said it is not beyond the pale to believe that one or more of those future leagues might be applicable, either tangentially or directly, to that framework. If it happens it happens if not then I'm pretty sure they've stopped trying to make things happen.

Thirdly, nobody is saying they have to use the ideas presented in this thread. They employ at least one professional game designer that makes systems like these for their game. They could engage in whatever creative and problem solving process they engage in when they're trying to be creative and solve problems and come up with a better idea than I've got. All we're asking is that they acknowledge that its a problem they can't ignore and take steps to
attempt to implement a satisfactory solution.

Finally, I'm gonna ask y'all again to stop trying to create a strawman to argue against. I understand the impulse, but you aren't doing yourself or the conversation any favors by these kneejerk and inflammatory mirages you keep arguing against.

What. Do. You. Want?

Every time I try and get a grip on what it is you actually want, you change the goalposts then call me names and accuse me of strawmanning to make a point.

Okay. What do you want?

It's clear you hate the campaign in PoE and want some way to never run it again. Okay. What does that look like to you? Why do you consider this such a towering, overriding problem? People have told you a double dozen times that GGG has spoken on this issue and your response has consistently been some flavor of "That's not good enough."

Stop it. No more moving targets. What do you want?
It is a moving target though. Right, like we have endless delve, ledge, twilight strand, and potential future league mechanics that could be added as an opt-in alternative to the campaign accessible through an NPC in act 1 for gold or whatever end game currency is.

Or they could make the campaign dynamic enough that you could actually play it a few hundred times and not get bored.

Or they could design something else to address the underlying concern.

What I'm looking for is for them to acknowledge the problem and begin work on it. They're professionals and they might have different ideas on how to accomplish it. I'm not picky enough to say I wouldn't enjoy any movement on this front.

I get that y'all like to ask streamers, who functionally get paid to play through the campaign ad infinitum, about it. They're wrong though.

Like I'm actually in awe of how they managed to functionally repackage the entire game and leave this unaddressed. It beggars belief. There was a short amount of time when GGG was saying they were going revise how people get ascendancies that looked like they were going to be making moves to address all the feedback about the unskippable campaign but then they took an abrupt left turn about all of that and here we are, another year without it being addressed.

You mean to tell me you come up with 40 unique challenges each league and can not come up with a way to unlock some way to streamline the leveling campaign? People literally funded and tested every feature in this upcoming game for you and you can't even bother to listen to them when they're telling you things?

It’s important to state in the forums the things you like and dislike so the devs can gauge what people want. I’m not sure if POE has polls, but keep communicating over the years to come what you favor and what you are opposed to. It’s all you can do with these games. Can’t please everyone, but we sure can voice our opinions and hope for the best! 🫶

Generally, people who push for campaign skips are there for endgame. They ONLY want endgame. Nothing CAN be interesting for them but endgame. The only thing they want to do is experiment with endgame builds; no matter what happens in the campaign, those players will not care because they one hundred percent believe "the actual game starts at endgame". Everything before level 90 is just pregame to them, a slog they have to pay in order to get to the 'real' fun.

Endgame should be earned, not just given.
You can have an alternate to the campaign and still earn the endgame.

Idk how this continues to confuse people. They are never going to allow this to happen.

Just like how they'd never allow trading automation or in game bulk markets and how path of exile 2 was just going to be a really big expansion for path of exile 1

hell, I'd be happy with a simple handicap XP boost for alts up until they reach the level of your main/highest character. even just 10% would be enough.

that would make getting through the campaign again and again at least slightly faster and more bearable and wouldn't require any changes or wholesale bypassing of the campaign such as what people here are suggesting.
On reflection,

Personally I don't mind the campaign because upgrades are quickly obtained, any drop feels nice to have. But that wears off quickly. I enjoy playing new skills instead of just yolo slamming ed contagion because it was meta years ago.

Maybe if the quest rewards had more variety in skill gems and a garunteed 4/5link it would smooth a lot of things over.

Quite literally the opposite is true.
I despise re-running campaign as much as the next guy and disagree with GGG's stance on not even entertaining the idea of adding skips to it.
However, the aspects of the game that actually matter (loot/crafting complexity, skill/class customisation, endgame variety) make running a few hour long campaign a complete no factor.
campaign is needed its the best thing whenever you play a new build it shows if your build is doing well and if its ready for mapping
