Neither game is nearly fun enough to ignore all the feedback regarding unskippable campaigns.
" Really dude? Are you really moaning about a game, which is grindy by definition, that is grindy? Don't want to play a grindy game, then go play something else. ARPGs are a grind fest, and that's why we love them. They also said that it will take 25h for a NEW, INEXPERIENCED player to beat the campaign. It's the same in PoE1, heck I think it's even longer in PoE1. Sometimes I really feel like some of you have listening comprehension problems, and just pick words you like at random from what you hear. There will never be a skip campaign option, doesn't matter how much people cry about it. The game doesn't need it. It's part of the gameplay. Leveling a new character in PoE1 is a breeze. You have leveling items/uniques, knowledge. I bet it will be same/similar in PoE2. |

" The problem with this, is the slippery slope. Endless Delve, Endless Ledge or Endless freakin' Twilight Strand will ALL become old real fast. Will player 'demand' that GGG keeps adding new ways to level? The answer you should ask yourself, is WHY you want another way to level. If it's "because we've done the same thing for years", then fine. Another way to level might help you for a while. But why do you bring PoE 2 into this, when this 'problem' is years away? Or are there maybe other reasons as to why you dislike the campaign? PoE 2's campaign IS a new way to level. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" yes. We have maps, we have endless ledge, we have endless delve, we have endless twilight strand and if they come up with some other content they can add it directly to the same NPC you'd use in act 1 to access those. They do periodically release new content, its not beyond the pale that some of that new content will meet that demand and be a natural fit for it unless GGG have completely abdicated their support for the future of path of exile 1 and path of exile 2 and path of exile mobile. Fine as is. Diablo 4 allows this, maybe you can play that instead.

" You buy it for me and I'll go play it. I have qualms about giving Blizzard my money. I'm here to talk about Path of Exile though. IGN : Reamus

" So you are, in fact, demanding that Grinding Gear release an entire brand new way to level every couple-odd leagues, devote endless resources to making it so you are faintly less bored for the forty whole minutes it takes for you to blast to maps anyways. Do you not understand how utterly unreasonable this is? |
|
" First, there is a finite amount of setup for the system. You need the NPC to act as the onramp. You need the offramp. But other than that its almost all already setup with endless delve and endless ledge leagues. They have the code base. Second, they're going to make more leagues. More leagues means more league mechanics. As I said it is not beyond the pale to believe that one or more of those future leagues might be applicable, either tangentially or directly, to that framework. If it happens it happens if not then I'm pretty sure they've stopped trying to make things happen. Thirdly, nobody is saying they have to use the ideas presented in this thread. They employ at least one professional game designer that makes systems like these for their game. They could engage in whatever creative and problem solving process they engage in when they're trying to be creative and solve problems and come up with a better idea than I've got. All we're asking is that they acknowledge that its a problem they can't ignore and take steps to attempt to implement a satisfactory solution. Finally, I'm gonna ask y'all again to stop trying to create a strawman to argue against. I understand the impulse, but you aren't doing yourself or the conversation any favors by these kneejerk and inflammatory mirages you keep arguing against. IGN : Reamus

Well if you dont like POE1... at this point then stop playing. POE2 I dont know how you came to any conclusion about it yet. Gl with whatever choice you make! Mash the clean

" tell me how fun Path of Exile is and I'll likely agree with you or probably even have a higher opinion of the game than you do. You're reading the title wrong. It isn't "the game isn't fun" its "its exactly as fun as anybody thinks it is but it isn't fun enough to ignore this issue we've been trying to get movement on for over a decade". IGN : Reamus

thats the point though.
If you are framing this as "the game isnt fun and I have been annoyed for over a decade" Why are you still here? The "issues", whatever ones you have as I can imagine the list is vast. Have been... apparently bugging you for over a decade. Your words Using about 5% critical thinking you could imagine that most of those "issues", probably will never be fixed if its been THAT LONG. Id suggest making feedback and diving into actual critical analysis of why and what you want. Rather than some general platitude title with complaints of demands. For the campaign though you already know the answer: A skippable campaign has been asked in several interviews, even just this year, and the answer has been a resounding "no" every time, even by Johnathan AND Mark this last time so ... Edit: and also saying "both..." when you havent even played POE2 yet is all doom and gloom. Thats fine if thats what you want to beleive but theres no game out yet. Rather than take the chance of submitting yourself to the dissapearing gang that is ever growing with forum doomsayers you should have some confidence Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Nov 22, 2024, 5:59:21 PM
