Coincidence?
" It should be obvious I am not lumping that guy in with the others because that person is not complaining about their drops? I even answered the question that Barry person asks in his last paragraph which is GGG doesn't ban bots right away so they don't get feedback on how they detect bots, simple as. It's why it's an industry standard to ban in waves. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

While the practice of grouping positively identified bots and rmt users together for a infrequent mass ban is the inustry standard. I think the methodology GGG is using, if they are still indeed doing this, is actually counter productuve. In essence they are saying "ok if you want to get your BiS stuff by rmt fine, then you will mostly only have rmt". This would only serve to make that a legitimate game play mode for some, and lead to more incentive for rmt farmers to bot. Certainly if GGG does not follow through and ban the rmt abusers then it is almost like an endorsement of the tactic, and a continued incentive for botters. I also don't understand why they would not just have things like ebay sales of PoE currency taken down based on IP infringement.

RMT is against the rules of the game, but it is not illegal to run a website like that. You should check what infringing an IP looks like and compare that to what RMT is, because I am not sure you know what that actually means

Copyright is a very basic concept. A users only right to use the game is the EULA agreement. I did not say the rmt abuser would be arrested, although in extreme cases of copyright infringement this has and can happen.

Can you cite any case of an RMT website being brought to court by the IP holder and losing over offering RMT services? :)

I did not say they should try and get Ebay taken down. There is a process in most civilized countries for making IP claims to have something removed. And for a site being taken to court over IP infringement, although not specific to video game IP, exhibit A would of course be Napster.

You still don't understand what copyright infringement entails. Those games that copy PoE's UI and blatantly rip off game designs infringe GGG's copyright. Selling digital goods within the confines of a video game is not in the same category.
Leave the legalese to people who understand this shit. If it was this easy GGG wouldn't be the first to take down those scummy websites The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

I miss those old no-shits-taken CW responses.
