Coincidence?

Whatever lets you sleep at night, bucko.

Well, we've got AI

What's stopping GGG from telling it to

1. Nerf droprates of forum complainers
2. Buff droprates of forum white knights
3. Gigabuff droprates of active streamers

lol

Someone plays ten times more then you = they will find 10 times more loot than you. Easy so far right?

Someone plays ten times more in an area that drops ten times more loot than the area you are in(for example white maps vs t 17 maps). They will find 10*10 = 100 times more loot than you. Wow, right?

You watch 10 hours of stream while playing only one hour yourself = You see them find 10*10 = 100 times more loot than you. And there it is the problem.

Ok, that Alkaizer dude might have some insider info on GGG and gets better droprates for sure, but still the math example given kind of applies in addition ;P

Nah. These things can still be dis/proven as well as anything in the real world can be.

In another game, one of the players analyzed a million data points, and has shown that there was a bug with the pseudo-random numbers generator they used. Which the devs then fixed.

So until those complaining about the PRNG do due diligence and at least try to show a similar care about the burden of proof, one should ignore their complaints as just venting about bad luck.
If this wasn't a coincidence there would be a lot more topics and posts on the matter.

I am assuming GGG support gets 100's of mails a day. One topic in all these years amidst what I can only assume are many thousands of mails in those years.

People can tin foil hat all they want but if this was even remotely true there should be a lot more instances like this.
Got to love AI's ability to find stuff from way back on the inter webs. Tin foil hat this: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/578923/page/1

And here is a better link with the actual post by Chris.

Ok ok I'm not sure if this is a reading comprehension issue or there is another point you are trying to make, but he literally said that the regular people complaining didn't seem to have any noticeable deviation in their loot drops, while the other group of people (those using bot software) have had their accounts flagged for botting and thus saw zero currency dropping.

The reason why they have a flagging system like that is that they ban bots in waves. This obfuscates the process for bot software programmers as they can't be sure what got their bot detected, as opposed to banning them right away and giving them "feedback" in that way.

There's nothing incriminating in what you link. Been discussed a billion times by now..

No , I think the reading comprehension issue is on your end. The simple fact that a function exists to alter the drops of any specific account means that it can and probably does exist to modify the drops of any account for any reason, in any way they want.
Well, it is news to me that GGG is officially messing with drop rates for specific accounts,
(accounts they have flagged for botting),
but then Tyrion2 seems to have been around for much longer, so...

Your post reads much differently in this light - did you get any answer about your account having been wrongly flagged ? Just how bad were the drop rates over those 3 weeks ? How much better are they now, not counting the mirror ?

Of course it is possible to alter the drop rates of specific accounts. They are developing the game after all lmao.

The problem with such assumptions is that you have no proof for any of that. The thread you link only proves they take action against botting, which anyone in their right mind would assume they do regardless as botting harms the in game market in no insignificant way.

Should bots have unaltered drop rates so you are left no shred of doubt someone at GGG might temper your drop rate because they didn't like one of your forum posts?

Don't be ridiculous lmao.
