macOS - "Failed to connect to instance" error
DONT got a fix but a work around if you get the game to load don't log fully out and you will be able to play again ... sucks but works even if you shut the computer it will still load ... just don't fully close poe ... I'm on steam ... and logging in ... I open the app in finder and then trash it then steam reinstalls the app and I try again ... takes a dozen times but works ...

you can try such method: run steam poe windowed mode, run predefined apple resize command (apple shortcuts) for poe app at 1280x720, press login, close the window and start again - should be at 1280x720 that means it's been successful, login, play, should be normal loading screen

One of the options here might help - https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Guide:Path_of_Exile_on_Mac_using_Windows_Client

I've been having this problem and I think I found a solution, or at least this seems to work for me:
1. When you boot path of exile set a different server to log in to, like I'm in California but I choose DC. 2. Try to login, you should get to the character screen and then when you try to login it'll give you that "failed to connect to instance" 3. Then if you change the server to your local server you should be able to get in and it lets you go into the game. ^ Not sure if that works for other people but it works for me so far, way better than the other methods I've tried. |
