macOS - "Failed to connect to instance" error

Same for me, the error is back and the fix above does no longer work...

EDIT: Changed from normal WIFI internet to using my mobile as Personal Hotspot and it worked.

I have the same issue. It always crashes directly after I have selected my character. then it "failed to connect to instance" error occurrs.

I have a similar problem
When I try to enter the character in Act 6, I get a loading screen and immediately get kicked out of the game with an error
If you try to enter the main menu and wait, you can look at the gateways and see that in 4-5 seconds they all just turn off
The options above did not help me

I have problem with login servers or just disconnecting after choosing character, when I click login quickly after opening I get to character menu but after 2 seconds of loading it just says disconnected, what to do...? Mac pro m2, I ve played today first time ever the game for around 4hrs and didn't even knew there are issues with it :D I took a break and cannot login again...

P.S no opening/restarting/hotspotting or whatever works for me...

But I want to add that it's not totally random either.
One thing that you have to do is that you NEED to login to the character selection screen as fast as possible.
There seems to be a 3-5 seconds window where if you don't login fast enough you have the "Unable to connect to the server" error.

Question for the MacOS posters...

have you been able to turn on the multi-thread option? It won't let me turn it on no matter what I do now and I can't remember if that's always been the case.

yup, you cant save this option. always defaults to disabled right now
