I'll play some more now till I get bored, I have some fun at the moment farming Uber Sirus

However, I'm not going to the next league, I'm taking a longer break

The game has big problems RMT, Exploits, bugs

"It's so repulsive"

RMT is whack a mole, they can only do so much, but in some way it'll always exist.

My problem is the leagues are feeling more and more less polished, which means more bugs and exploits.

Concept of Necropolis was good, but it also felt like a huge step back regarding QOL features of the league.

I think as we get closer to POE 2, and the crunch is being applied to that, more and more resources will be pulled from POE 1, which will result in more exploits and bugs, and less polish.

Lets be real, they will prefer the majority of the player base switch to POE 2 on release, as most people will not be splitting their time between both equally, and most will be focusing on one game.

If 80% stayed back in poe 1, all the resources they put into poe 2 are kind of wasted in a ROI type perspective.

VERY very well said!
+ALOT this!

so many exploits and bugs that its insane and GGG didnt ban any abusers at all...

It's a can of worms I suspect GGG won't touch. They will delete as many bugged items as they can detect and maybe suspend some streamers if they actually did it on purpose and on stream with clear evidence.

Otherwise I don't think much will happen to players.

That'll set a BAD precedent. Exploiters will be emboldened if there is no real consequence for their actions. ='[.]'=

its alrdy happenin now - this leag full of exploits and bugs that exploiters alrdy abuse from very start and GGG do NOTHING!

theres ALRDY no real consequence for their actions!

GGG just promote abuse and exploiters that show this leag!

Yes, it's true, it's already happening!

I wonder what would have to happen for them to change their mind about this

sadly it looks like GGG kill poe1 for poe2

so poe1 will get alot MORE bugs + exploits to abuse and less fun after each leag...

Pretty much the way I'm seeing it as well.

Funny thing though, what I've seen of Poe2 mechanics will not please poe1 diehards at all. Perhaps they should put some effort into 1

Or maybe it just fades away
They decoupled poe1 and 2, so the first can kind of get unhinged, it no longer has to end in a place where the second can pick it up.

I think (assume) they did this to give players what they've asked for: speed & splosions. With this comes less of an incentive to ban people for things that potentially break the economy or such. After this patch-based economy, wouldn't it be weird if they'd start banning people?

So much stuff got broken, players could hardly do a thing without worry.
Did you try turning it off and on again?

guess poe1 will die unless GGG decided to change their vision (mean vision that 100% allow abuse exploits and bugs as of we see now this leag where 14+ mir was allowed and promoted by GGG to streamers)

Ok, can I close this thread?

GGG did not ban anyone, although some forum warriors wanted to and now they are sad about it, probably because GGG does not respect their opinion as relevant.

Otherwise, I think that the term "exploits" is grossly misused in this topic.

The fact that some guys "were in the right place at the right time" and make some item (due to a GGG mistake) does not mean that they are bad guys, with bad intentions and that they should be punished.

Nah dude, no way you defend that behaviour. Not only did those players know it was wrong, they actively took steps to try and hide their misdemeanor by using gift wrappings and such.

I wouldn't have been against GGG handing temporary bans to people doing this kinda crap, but even if they go unpunished let's call the behaviour what it is.
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
This exploit, and exploits in general are obviously cheating. The people who find these and use them are almost exclusively more experienced players that KNOW what they are doing can't possibly be intended or allowed. But.....is that really true when looked at through an outsider lens?

An exploit, or bug, is a design issue and NOT a player issue. Yes....its in the ToS that if you abuse an exploit you can be punished. But even if all the signs are 99.999999% obvious that its an exploit, is it really? How can any PLAYER know that the devs didn't design this to work exactly that way with 100% certainty? When harbingers were dropping mirror shards all over the place, how were players to really and truly KNOW that this wasn't intended?

Therefore, a significant amount of blame can be placed on the developers. Especially when you consider that this was an exploit of the NEW mechanic which should be thoroughly tested. They can't catch everything, but they should certainly catch way more before rollout than they have in recent leagues.

So is it right to ban players who could actually successfully argue that they couldn't be sure it was an exploit (even if that was a .0001% chance)? One could argue that the farming strategies of last league was an "exploit" because it was pretty darn clearly spitting out massive ridiculous amounts of currency that a reasonable seasoned PoE vet would classify as "unintended". There are many things that could be considered exploits, depending on who is looking at them.

But these are DEVELOPER-created issues, and we have been encouraged as players to maximize our profits and efficiency as much as we possibly can.

The items should be deleted for the good of the game, but the lucky few that got to engage in this developer-created fiasco should NOT be punished for simply playing the game that was presented to them.

***I would like to say before I get attacked, I have NOT played this league at all and am not in the "I just want to keep my ill-gotten gainz" camp."

****I'd also like to add that RMT shenanigans and outside-PoE issues have no bearing or place in an argument about exploits in-game. These things are CLEARLY delineated as against the ToS regardless of normal play, bugs, exploits, or ANYTHING. It is on GGG to prove RMT has taken place and act accordingly, it is not on any of us to simply "speculate" about it or really do anything about it. An exploit should be treated the same way for an rmt-er as it would a non-rmt'er: the EXTRA punishment should be entirely separate for someone also breaking the ToS via RMT.

What the hell did I just read...?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
