Ethereal Knives projectiles not returning

I went ahead and looked the post up that Mark made about EK. The term "fade" that is being mentioned in the wiki is not coming from GGG. See marks original post here:

The projectiles move at an average speed of close to 120 units/s for roughly 0.25 seconds of travel before they stop colliding with things, putting their effective range at somewhere around 30ish units. Then inherently have a variation of +/-40% base speed, but the average will be around 30.


From this post you can not make any assumptions about fading or dissipating projectiles from Ethereal knives.


I dont think it was their intention to fix this bug.

See it from there perspective:
There is this minor technical bug of EK returning with full lifetime, alltho they should not. It not impacts the game in a big way, so they just leave it in, and have it very far down on their priority list. Its in there since EK exists, but there where no common sources of projectile return back then.
People dont realize its a bug, it even turns into a feature when returning projectile gem is added.

Affliction league comes arround, and they change any lingering blade skill, and without even expecting it, accidently fixing that minor bug. Ofcourse now it affects alot of people, because all of them learned that EK returns (even tho it should only do so partaily).

Iam pretty sure they are aware of that, and maybe even change it, so that dissipaiting projectiles return with full life time. But at the moment, there are more pressing issues, like alot of spiky servers, alot of chrashing hideouts n stuff. Give them two weeks, i know it hurts. But EK now returning properly does not make it unplayable, just makes the gem sligthly worse, so its still not very high on their prirority.

I mean, do you remember diablo 2? Any +%damage aura affected Holy Hammer of the paladin in the original state of the game. They than turned that bug into a feature instead of removing it completly, by making concentration, a aura noone was using anyway, to still affect it, but patched all other auras to not affect hammer anymore.

Easy to explain. As mentioned before, projectiles have a max range of 240 units. Without any projectile speed, EK travel rougthly 120 units. With 249% projectile speed, this translates into rougthly 418 units total travel range. Thats enougth distance to hit the maximum range of 240 units (all projectiles have this limit), and still have around 178 units of travel time remaining, thats enougth to just get back into vision. Your vision to the top of the screen is around 75 units. 178+75 is 253, so you "see" 13 units of returning projectiles.

If the previous behavior was due to a bug, and they deliberately fixed this bug in the rework for 3.23, it should be easy for someone from GGG to quickly come here and confirm that the way the skill is functioning now is how it was always intended.
It's been a week, why is this not fixed already ?
