Its time for PoE devs to adress performance problems in End-game farming scenarios

I have an gpu from AMD 7900 XTX and a cpu also from amd 7950x3D , this league i played at mostly under 60 fps for most of my mapping doing endgame farming.
I was running 80% Deli , Legion, beyond and strongbox with elder scarabs + divination + polished legion + gilded strongbox. I had a headhunter on a tornado shot build. I enter the map , i pop 2 legions at once and i enjoy a nice 20 fps gameplay on my 3k euros gaming rig. Btw my old card Gtx 1080 and my old cpu i7 7700k got exactly same behaviour wich clearely shows there is something wrong with the game. Its not ok for a 7900xtx / 4090 to perform like a gtx 1080 . That is clearely something wrong and needs to be adressed. More people need to start talking about it. This issue that has been in the game needs to be adressed and fixed. Its not normal for a low end card and cpu to perform exactly the same as the newest and greatest tech we have today. If this issue finally gets adressed we could all benefit from it with a much more smooth gaming experience above 60 fps instead of 30 fps Last bumped on Dec 30, 2023, 8:31:05 AM

Gonna play devil's advocate here but the easiest way for them to fix all those performance issues is to gut Headhunter and TS style builds in general :p
Now I'd always take more performance over less but games reach a stage where the only way to improve performance is to cut, PoE is already very efficient at some calls which is the only reason it works in the first place. Its like back in the day with no cooldown CoC for those that played back then, you could melt your PC and the servers at the same time the only way to fix that was to cut too. So i'd be careful what you wish for and go for the fact they should prioritise performance when possible especially with their recent patches tanking some users framerate seemingly arbitrarily. Semantics aside though +1 in general, I feel like they have let performance slide recently in their pursuit of higher quality for the future and I would vastly prefer them to ensure we have good performance first. |

" I had a fx8300 cpu (over 10 years old CPU) and I was able to get a consistent 40 fps before the patch then I changed my cpu into a I5 12400 and upgraded my ram an now i get 50 fps with consistent freezes for no apparent reason besides the performance patch and this leads me to believe that they messed something up that's increasingly getting worse with the number of monsters in maps/monsters spawned by league mechanics (legion/breach/delirium etc.) |

Endgame scenarios be damned, but did they at least fix the issues that made second monitor content lag? I'm not coming back untill I can watch anime on second monitor while doing blight or map farming AGAIN(because it used to work without flaw for 11 years)
This game used to run so well before this league, now it is butchered. I understand it is the price paid for being compatible with POE2 assets, but it is price too great unless it gets fixed. I have fresh system, so do not have POE downloaded yet and can not test it for myself. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,

must be your pc issue then i did 80% deli with breach and legion and hh and my fps was around 40-50 all the time on my RX 5700 XT wich is like 3 times weaker than your gpu

I'm sure OP could min-max his performance by editing his windows install maybe reinstalling it, optimizing path of exile profile, using cpu core priority edits, updating his bios, doing ram OC etc... But lets not pretend that global performance of this game did not go to * with this update. I do not think this game ever had as many reports related to bad performance. In the past the issues were mostly crashes, not general drop in performance. This was also expected, I just hope it does get improved a lot untill next big patch. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,

i just dont care anymore...

" FYI POE is a CPU bound game so i don't see the point of talking about GPU's in this thread at all. (if you have at least a 960 you should be more than fine on this side). |

to be fair performance a dip a bit in overall . i got decent gaming pc and i play on almost max settings but in 3.22 even i can see performance dips.. but on others hand permanence overall got better when playing full juice maps
