Haven't PoE 2 devteam learned from d4 devs?

Players have bad gear, unused support gems slots and sometimes even unspent skill points; off course they are weak. The devs must have also noticed how D4 pre-season "make the game harder" patch was received in D4. Because of all of this is it unlikely POE2 will release this hard.

Yet is it still important to give feedback about the perceived difficulty. Because it is unlikely NOT impossible the game will ship this hard.

However im really upset that they dint showcase any mapping. Campaign is only 10 % of the game.

Because mapping uses all the monsters and environments of the campaign might they wait to fully develop this until those are done. They might have a rough prototype of mapping but not polished enough to show.

Just here for the hype!

I feel very conflicted atm, I was really hyped when they showed what you dan do with skills and skill tree, new classes look varied, but man I do no want to play a game with a 5 minute bossfight every zone, I really don't.
I'm trying to get my hopes up for teh game in general but those bosses they won't turn back of course, feels like that 50% of the dev time went into that.
I don't mind a slower game, but I don't want bullet spunges everywhere.

This is where I'm at too.

Sure, Johnny and little Jimmy can say "but characters were crap, with no passives and bad gear". And they might be right, by all means. They probably are. But GGG went out of their way to limit gear and passives to give us the impression we got; why?

I'm just going to say it: I'm too old to manage 5 flasks, 5 skills, a dodge roll and your movement against every pack you meet. While that's a "me" problem, I can't possibly see how this gameplay is "respecting players time" in a better way than the current game.

I'm still fairly optimistic, but I'm not going to be blown away. Deep down, I still believe that GGG cannot be stupid enough to let go of the staple position they have in the ARPG market as a fast paced ARPG. But I do need some footage of a well-geared, well-rounded character before I make up my mind here.

The sad thing in all of this, is previous comments made by GGG when asked about melee in PoE 1, where the answer was: "Melee feels great in PoE 2". Good, fantastic, love it. What about PoE 1?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
GGG failed to market the game.

They showcase worst case scenario, slow gameplay, boring gameplay with bosses.
No one want to fight a boss for 10 minutes in a arpg.

So, here I am waiting for them to show a level 80 character or such with good gear go and smack some stuff.
But NO.

Hype is dead for poe2.
Marketing failed.

Positive note: Game looks stunningly great, runs great on mid gear hardware thanks to good render.
Slow ruthless design.

So, the marketing team needs to ask themselves, who are we building this game for and what to show them what it can be?

slow and boring boss play like diablo4?

or?
i am disappointed by exilecon and the direction they are moving.

List of removed effects (nerfs):

* Crafting bench

* Statincreases from charges and harder to generate
( " If you can get enough attackspeed, trololol huehuehue " )

* Movementspeed

* Flasks, including quicksilver

* HP-regen

* MF
(Will be in the game for currency, aka, nerf)

* Undecided on div-cards, but HH will still be in the game, so I guess it'll be a 1 in 5 million hour drop chance?

* "You won't be able to craft maps, hueheuheueu" , really funny, reflect back

* Portals (TL:DR - devteam think you should git gud and "learn from your mistakes", "improve your gameplay"...)

* Removed lab (Honestly, this is the one change I like, imagine dodge-rolling through lab...)

8 years of devtime for this?

D4 dev-team said in their latest stream that nerfs should come with accompaning buffs and be more clear on their longterm goal of the game. Can someone list a single buff that has been introduced?

All excellent changes, makes the game, interactions, drops all more meaningful. I just hope they wont cave into the the popular demand

Totally agree, poe2 looks incredibly bad vs poe1.

thats what they want though, because if you feel that you'll play PoE1 because you think its way better than 2.

There is no point in making a "sequel" that you run in parallel if it has the exact same feel as the original - you may as well just extend the original especially when its a service model game.

This lets them capture a larger group of players... in principle anyway. I do think some people will tilt about both games not being for them specifically but on the whole they cover a wider area.

I sorta do, as long as those 10 minutes are more than just "stand in place and use normal attack".

The only confirmation on the crafting bench is that its not in the campaign, and that vendors with help you fill any needs you have during the campaign. They did not tell us if the crafting bench is removed from the game entirely.

Charges are harder to gen, but they also have more effect synergies will skills. Not sure why this is a problem for you.

Movement speed so far looks identical to poe1

The only flask confirmed to not be in poe 2 is the quicksilver.

All of the characters in the gameplay demonstrations had hp regen. What is your complaint here?

Didnt see anything about mf. Only the removal of quantity from the game, and increased effective use of rarity.

They said they want div cards in the game, but have not worked out how yet.

They literally stated crafting maps is still in the game when talking about the reflect mod.

Portals could be a valid complaint. However they seem to only be restricted in boss fights, so we will have to see.

Ive seen a lot of complaints on reddit and this forum, and its like people didnt even actually watch the streams.
