Diablo 4 is the best DIABLO game but i've now lost interest in the franchise

NGL if i werent invested in this league right now i d be going balls deep into d4 s5.

tho my interest in this league is kinda waning.

at higher levels the upkeeps are expensive. i feel like i m farming to pay rent.

I'm glad I left the PoE league when I did so that I wasn't soured against it with all these updates regarding scarabs and dust. I had a good time!

It seems like they killed their own league, which is odd since it started off so well. I don't really get the motivation here, unless they have already decided to move these elements into the core game.

It just seems unnecessary to me.

That said I'm blasting away in D4. Bout to start my Rogue this weekend!

At this point for me D4 is a really fun game for a week or maybe two every quarter (just like D3 was). They pushed 3 month seasons with progression reset and then drastically cater progression to the expectations of few-hour-per-week players. I guess it's the most profitable approach but it makes me wonder why they even bother having an "eternal realm" at all.

So just when I am like okay no more trying to make Charan in vidya games Blizzard go and turn Shadow Step into a fucking beast. The interplay between tempering, crits, dark shroud crit generation, Ravager aspect and life gained on passive dodge is just fuckin chefs kiss. This is what Flicker Strike always wanted to be. Not too manic, perfectly sustainable and satisfyingly crunchy.

Already retired a max level Arc Lasher and I am eyeing a cold based Dasher next. That new cold imbued basics Aspect is...er....cool.

This game is my new Wolcen and I aint even ashamed. 1.5k hours easy. And it's only getting better. A very fine hundred bucks spent.

Trash taste? Maybe, but I am the one having fun, so yknow...maybe this isn't a problem for me. ;)

Hope you are feeling better. :)

I'd say that PoE and D4 had great seasons/leagues this time around. I've enjoyed both.

I will still without question hold that D4 is more fun and respects a players time, but Mark is seemingly pushing for a more inclusive PoE that is less elite and frustration driven. It remains to be seen how that will manifest as PoE2 releases and dueling games exist in a GaaS format, but I do have some optimism here, which is unusual for me. The currency AH and passive loot/income streams were great additions. I've heard that in true GGG fashion, subsequent patching has made boats less effective, but hopefully they figure out a good spot for it to go core.

With respect to D4, the devs really have gotten the balance pretty close. There are still meta outliers like Andy's Rogue and Lightning Spear, but truly you could easily play through the majority of the content with many different builds.

D4 just flat out feels good to play. The combat and actions are fluid, the performance & optimization near flawless, and it looks great. Even on PS5.

Spoiler
PoE on PS5 is a fucking epic disaster atm. Take a look in the console forums right now. Its as bad as I can ever ever remember. Worse than Cyberpunk was.

Try the Hydra Summoner. It's very fun. I was told about it by a friend that says it's the most fun build he's played this season and he's played 13 builds this season so far.

Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

I see a few of those about, yeah. I'm content to have just one level 100 Sorc this season I think. What I REALLY need to get my head around is the Druid. It's the one class I haven't managed to make 'my own' version of. I really want to do a companions build. Maybe with Tempering it can be pulled off.

Tempering is so fucking good. The level of specialisation it affords in a simple, direct way is unprecedented imo. And it's mostly for alts and high level characters since you need to build up the resources first.

d4 has only always been improving since s4. maybe it hasnt "improved enough" but i would say its a good game right now.

shitting on d4 is just being a fanboi.

i like d4 too.

permanency. there are "oldies" like me who love the idea that everything we accumulate during temp leagues enrich ourselves on a permanent realm.

which on the flipside means, if a game is solely focused on temp leagues and everything is voided at the end of the league. i would not even touch the game to begin with.

speaking of which, if i got access to poe2 closed beta, i would install it, try it a bit then let it rot. i dont want to invest too much time on building wealth to have it all voided.

Happily avoiding most VoH previews.

Okay so for the first time ever I am obsessing over playing a level 100 character.

What sorcery is this?
