21:9 doesn't work properly for me on an LG 3440x1440 ultrawide. I now get black bars on the left and right side of the screen. This wasn't an issue previously.

well no, because this change have just been done and wasn't there before.

The community team member is implying 21:9 should still work correctly -- it doesn't for me. It also would have been nice to have this in the patch notes, that way I don't spend 40+ minutes trouble shooting it before realizing it's not on my end.

GGG you can´t be serious! I just decided to give you one last chance and i reinstalled PoE. BUT you now cutted off my 32:9 Ratio ...byebye immersion, byebye PoE.

Hopefully my post does not will be deleted this time... since its your new behavior to delete unwanted opinions :)
horrible change.

Game looks like it's 20 years old now.

GGG, this is just not right.
This ruined my vacation
Because of this change, 21:9 is also screwed up, I have black bars on the sides, 3440x1440 resolution

Previously it was possible to manually set the aspect ratio of the Path of Exile client to be very short and wide, allowing you to see an unintended amount of the level at once. A limit needed to be set. Because of server serialisation distances, this maximum aspect ratio is currently set to 21:9. This is the widest that we can currently go before we start hitting the cutoff where entities and effects vanish. We are looking at being able to increase this in the future.

This note was accidentally missed from the patch notes. We're very sorry for that oversight.

It's 2022... It's been working just fine and NOW you decide to remove this? So that's a big no on buying a supporter pack.

Oh yeah, why would u even test this out on the common 21:9 3440x1440 monitors? Why test anything? Just push the changes to production and see how players got angry.
This is a completely unacceptable step back in functionality. Wide-screen monitors of various types are incredibly common in 2022. Are people supposed to be experiencing PoE from now on with 1/3 of the screen missing, buy a low AR monitor specifically for PoE, or what? Hindering basic hardware compatibility of a game in 2022 in the name of balance (??? balancing what ???) seems just beyond belief.

Unfortunately, 21:9 does not work correctly, the standard monitor resolution of 2560x1080 has black bars on the sides, we end up with 2520x1080 - it is not 21:9.

A full third of my display being black bars isn't better than disappearing elements at the edge of the screen. At the very least make it so users can still use their monitor's native resolutions and aspect ratio instead of an arbitrary cut off at 21:9
