32:9 ultra wide support gone!

I was going to buy Exilecon tickets, but the webpage didn't support my monitor's resolution...
Bump. Revert this change. A third of my monitor is black bars for no reason - the game worked perfectly last week, and the client is still rendering everything underneath the black bars anyway.

PLEASE release a statement on this so we know how long we have to wait or if I'm uninstalling this game permanently.

Already installed Last Epoch... Having a blast. They support 5120x1440
I suggest GGG should not support mechanical keyboards anymore, since the players with mech-keys can alt+f4 quicker, which is ofc a huge advantage in hardcore to players who cannot afford a mechanical keyboard...

GGG BAN MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS PLEASE !!!
What's Last Epoch like though? Itemization?

They also said they're working to re-add it.

They have not said this. They have given vague non-answers about looking to go wider in the future.

Their reasons are really, really dumb for taking this support out, and they should leave support for all screen setups functioning 100% and, if there are bugs, they should fix the bugs.

Looking to add it back means they're working on it, or will be working on it. Maybe slowly, maybe they never will complete it, but it does mean it is something they at least have plans to do. That is as most as you can expect a company to offer, short of telling you exactly when it's going to be added back. Since they only just removed it, I can be certain they don't have enough info to even have a timeframe as to when it would be added back.

As for the reasons, again, it boils down to netcode. Server serialization problems, which they claimed it was, boils down to how data is formatted so it can efficiently be transmitted between the server and client. I don't know what problems were happening specifically, but it would completely track that they were hitting a size limit causing them not to be able to track all the objects and effects on the screen. That could be causing a number of problems in terms of gameplay calculations.

Everything behind the black bars is still being rendered. Think of letterbox as somebody taking 2 pieces of cardboard and sticking them to the sides of the screen. The image behind it still exists and is still being processed but the cardboard doesn't allow you to see it. That is why the community patch can reinstate the image because it either disables the black bars or makes their alpha 0(transparent). The problem with it is it does it by hooking into the game's executable which is a no-no and will probably get people banned. This can all be solved with a simple option in the options menu when a widescreen aspect ratio is detected.
"Remove letterbox.
Warning! This feature can lead to bugs, errors and unintended behavior. Please use the bug report feature to report your findings"
Problem solved. People have been warned, letterbox has been removed for whoever agrees and a clear communication path to GGG has been described. Checks all the tickboxes.

Ohh and with AMD' Eyefinity, this is not just a "rich people's problem". Any two 16:9 screens can be combined into one 32:9 mash-up (with the issue being the monitor borders). I used it in Dota 2 at one point and combined 2 21:9 monitors into one for a whooping 42:9 resolution. There was no letterboxing(but a lot of distortion). It felt amazing.
