Lost Ark is POE Killer

i played it "intensively" for a while but it got old playing 1 hour a day on the main and 7 on alts.

after a couple months i had enough of that.

I know this is a joke/meme post making fun of Lost Ark stans, but damn. LA is quite possibly one of the most overrated games on Steam. It's literally antifun, unless you enjoy turn-based combat (long cooldowns on all attacks=turn based).

It's complete garbage, mobile gacha game tier trash. The only cool-ish part is getting your own island which you can Sims-build over time.

in what way its turn based combat, its one of the most high pace action combat mmos out there even if you play low apm class its alot more active than poe combat and if you play gunslinger its apm hell. You are certainly right on the gacha part tho
I only got to lvl 55 as a deathblade, and it was a slog the entire way. I did not see any action that you speak of, except maybe same amount as you would in a game like LoL, which is a small fraction of action potential compared to an average PoE build.
Deathblade is the most action class lol. Literally flying somersaults. Wheel spins.

You must have quested, yes the quests are lame. Just a lot of npc narrow lane pathing to press " E " for your 10,000th time.

If you pvp the action is fine, better 1vs1 skills than poe has. POE has better mob action, as LA offers no mob exp. Tho as for 1vs1 skills or hit to the air hit to the ground type skills, LA does better.

POE hasn't worked on its pvp duels. Truthfully POE would only need like 10 melee knockdown skills, 10 range knockdown skills, than even more skills for 1vs1 that hit people high to the air, & lastly a few dodge roll gems. To make POE's pvp work. Not just some pvp npc thrown out there or royal mode, like they have done so past wise, & than pretend nobody likes pvp. When revealed wrong. You have to set the stage, before presenting the theme. Until then POE's pvp won't work & POE's 1vs1 experience is meh as most skills are aoe. You can't have a game where aoe is for mobs & 1vs1 is for bosses, has to work for both flexibly. Instead POE is like aoe is for mobbs & 1vs1 gems is for bosses, it splits the uses too much. Reason is they have too many gems built for aoe spam to win at wiping maps. Which has more to do with deleting zoomers from existence forever. Than rework the party skill rotation. As this game has no rotation.

The problem with LA is most classes have only 18 skills, some being passive buffs, so really you have 8 our of 16 skills. Where that means only 2 sets of skills to test. Which sucks. Having only 8 out of 16 skills is super lame, per class. For every class. Lame. Not enough skills per class, the skill list barely scrolls down. Than the skill tree is like 1 out of 3 options for like 4 picks? wth, tiniest skill tree for kids.

If anything Lost Ark showed me that I need at least 12 active skills per class, & 40 skills to use pick from for that 12, at least. LA had 8 active & 16 to pool from. Which isn't enough. So now my mmo's require more. Reason I ask POE'ers to make POE less about min max'ing 1 skill & more about adding more active gems over time, to progress the game to a game where you use 4 to 12 active skills. As the mainstream pitch. Or mainstream build trend. As right now the build trend is min max 1 skill to spam 1 skill & that my friends isn't all that diff from a mobile game. The tree & build to item knowledge is what is advanced about POE, yet is that enough? The active gem list has to be more advanced as well. Over time. POE 2.

LA pvp had only 1 map, no rewards. So after you spammed all skills from every class 100 matches or so, which only takes 1 month to perform. & Than write a pvp review on how every class ranks for pvp. With 100 arena result screenshots. You found out Artillerist was op, striker stun locked too often, mages dished out too much aoe spam for 3vs3's, & mostly range classes were winning all the top dps scoreboards for 3vs3. 100 matches, range wins.

Tho seeing how poe also has range being buffer than melee or so some believe, pvp would probably be similar till they fixed. Also like I said poe is mostly aoe skills, so what are people gonna throw a ton of aoe at eachother only? No wonder poe'ers haven't gone for pvp. POE still needs x10 more engaging dodge rolls Dragonnest Online style dodge rolls, or Lost Ark dodge rolls.

Where's the 1vs1 gems? You mean dual strike, which sounds like nails on a chalk board? & Dueal Strike has no visual animation? Or do you mean Ele Strike skills which practically look like spell aoe? Or cyclone which is a rip off from d2's whirlwind? What melee skills does poe have for its trademark melee? Nothing really. They believe simple bash or double strike skills are gonna hold new player retention? The 1vs1 melee for this game needs to be looked at seriously. Add 10 new 1vs1 gems that new players would look at & go " WOAH I wanna try this game! " as of now they have very few melee gems that do that. Too few. Than mobs would have to be 1vs1 based more to & right now they are made entirely only for aoe spam.

Ye POE would need A TON of knock to air knock to ground 1vs1 gems. I'd say pvp or not it still needs that. LA gave everyone the urge to want this now, so even if we don't play Lost Ark or got bored of its Arena, retired LA players still want better knockdown gems. Or new strategy ailments.

POE requires better 1vs1 monsters that aren't bosses either. Every mobb shouldn't be built for aoe, some mobs should be built only for 1vs1 & be tough to kill for aoe gems. & I'm not speaking bosses, bosses are obviously 1vs1 viable. Tho def mobs should be 1vs1 based as well.

As for the rest of LA, ye the party experience sucked, had people waiting around town for a over glorified short dungeon run. Tho guess what POE's zoomer party hideout experience to a isolated map design, that sucks for parties more than most mmorpg's party style, as well. SO LA & POE has bad party formats or vision teams.

Yet at least POE is more fun for mobb fights. As like I said LA offered no mob exp.

P.s. Yes LA is dead. 1.4million to 400k. 400k to 200k. 100% more bots or dual accounts since launch. So now 200k to 100k. 100k left. Tho 100k still realizing how much LA is P2W. P2W wasn't New Worlds problem, yet NW still failed. So 100k from LA, slowly not enjoying p2w. So next few months, welp, 40k Lost Ark players from 1.4m testers. 40k left 2 months from now, who aren't bots.

P.s.s. POE essentially needs someone who knows the meaning of SKILL ROTATION.

i never seen someone with so strong opinion on LA that is also so clueless on that game before

you didnt even get the G spamming right and instead called it E spamming LMAO
I put over 500 hours on lost ark it not worth it imo. end game is atrocious, the chances to upgrade your gear is awful and it won't let you enter raids with out certain gear levels. the game gate keeps you from progressing so even if I play all day I can't advance my main past the dailies without p2w. Any kind of grind that can help you to get gold and buy further upgrades without p2w is boring as hell.

inb4 playing alts.. boring as hell! your doing the same chaos dungeon on all your alts your doing the same skill rotations, everyone else is doing. Boring game but very aesthetic if it had no limits on progression I would find it more enjoyable. As i'm a hardcore gamer put a lot time in on gaming.

Need to do guild raids with mics, playing with the raid finder you just asking to rage, and waste time get people who want to quit after 30 minutes of learning, or just bad players who don't wanna learn.

I like POE, I like mapping, bossing,doing trade, crafting. Way more fun than lost ark progression style.

Revision Edit: apparently it is much easier to upgrade your gears now, still progression is gate keep by lock outs so only so much you can log into do unless you wanna play alts.

I'm having fun playing Lost Ark. I like the combat. I like upcoming monster attacks being warned with red on the ground.

The one thing about combat that gets tiresome to me is the MMO format regenerating monsters. No real experience gained from killing monsters and they sometimes regenerate so fast that I get irritated sometimes when I need to interact with something on the screen but the monsters keep getting regenerated before the interaction is complete and they interrupt the interaction.

Not for PoE though. PoE telegraphs attacks by making them the same color as the background, and obfuscating them with tons of other effects from different sources. Fortunately, the game also allows you to build yourself to either facetank everything (or almost everything) or delete the whole screen\the boss in seconds, making the need to react to attacks almost irrelevant. Just hold your skill button and collect loot.
