[Solution found!] Even more CPU spikes after the patch; the game is unplayable.
" Yeah noticed it too, crazy CPU spikes at character selection screen, even with Hyper-threading disabled in BIOS. |
|
" My processor is Intel i7, so I have 4 physical cores. As a result F1 CPU graph shows increase from 4ms to 6ms when hyper-threading disabled in BIOS, but 12-14 ms when disabling Engine Multithreading in Graphics Options. Guess 4 cores way better than 1. But obviously disabling hyper-threading worsens performance. |

Why would you mark it as a solution found when the solution is to drop 30-40% of your fps? What a joke.
Does the developer even understand how much money does this bug costs him? How many new players are just gonna uninstall without messing with settings? Like 20% at least? This is insane. Me and my friend, we both got it. Fortunately, we can switch to Vulcan. And if Vulcan starts sucking, what then? |

I agree, this shouldn't be given the status of a solution. It's still a problem that GGG should address.
Softcore, solo self-found.

" Yeah, I have exactly the same bug. |
|
" 1) No FPS drop for me, stable 60 fps with hyper-threading disabled. But yeah, if I had 144hz monitor I'd got FPS drop. 2) Got this bug both on Vulkan and on DirectX. |

" Because now I can actually play the game. Otherwise PoE is simply unplayable. Disabling hyper-threading is the only way until they fix the graphics engine (and I seriously doubt they do it any time soon, most likely we'll see this bug in PoE 2 too). |
