You don't need fusings yet. You need another bow. I never try to 6L something unless I have a serviceable 5L back-up. Try to 6L the better of the two. Then it's just a matter of time spent to get your 6L. Keep pounding away at it until you get it. Could be 1000s. But at least you're not having to save up for it... you're playing the game while you work on it.

Made 100s of 6L and I've spent 40 and 4000 and everything in between. Mostly hits around 600-800.
Best thing to do is farm the 6L bases TBH or just buy it. Zero frustrations or doubts. If you must 6L 28+ quality it. Improves odds.
