Added in me into the list, the game crashed on me, since the launch of this new patch.
I have been in POE since patch 3.10, and there was no such crashing issues. My actions to solve this: a. deleted my game and re-downloaded it just now; still crashes (unable to go into my character selection) b. deleted all cache files in my game folder; still crashes (unable to go into my character selection) Am using laptop to play this; it is Window 8.1, Intel Core i-5-4200U CPU @ 1.6GB (old laptop) Please anyone tell me, what can i do as next actions?? This patch really brings me such inconveniences; as 40GB+ in data download. If GGG cant comes up with solutions, i guess this is the end for me. I was CTD (crashing to desktop) like everyone else.
I read through this thread, saw that most people were like me running AMD Ryzen chip AND had just recently applied Windows Update kb4598242. All I did was rollback Windows Update kb4598242 and everything back to normal. Just like what I have read here, rollback Windows Update kb4598242, nothing else. I have played hours today and no CTD! I did not have to do anything else. |

I have the same problem
I've seen people say to edit your bios or rollback to the last windows update but at this point I'd rather just play something else and let ggg fix the problem. hopefully it'll be fixed by next league. |

There are two workarounds for these crashes which most likely happen on Ryzen CPUs.
1) Disable SMT in Bios 2) Change process affinity by disabling (logical) CPU cores. Either in task manager or with a batch file. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

After Hours of crashing and seeing other people deal with the same problems I had. I had enough it's been 2 days of straight crashing i tried everything even made a new account still the same problems I just got into this game this league already have 100 hours into the game. It's hard to sit here and wait with no response please GGG get on it!

My game ctd constantly after 3.13.1. I came back next day no crashes. Today, no crashes for whole day earlier. Get back tonight I'm crashing 5 times a map. I do have a Ryzen 5 1600. I do not have the Windows update installed that people are talking about. I'm apprehensive to disable SMT, I would rather just wait for a fix.

Crashing as well - can't play for more than a few minutes at a time, sometimes it crashes before I can log in.
IDK why this is happening. Truthfully, there have been some crashes to desktop since the beginning of the league, but it wasn't as bad as this. After this latest patch the game's practically unplayable. I've tried the following: a) updated graphics drivers, I'm using a 1660 super, driver version is 461.40. b) deleted shader caches c) tried the repair function d) reinstalled the whole game Nothing seems to fix it. |
