Don't be too afraid. It's not that impossibly hard for hc atm.

I didn't even die for once with a lvl-30 marauder in Cruel Merveil encounter.

But my build at that level was obviously flawless except mid-level items.

So, HC players should really be HC and I don't see any problem with that. However possible difficulty reduction will appear before it goes beta.

Just, NO ! Hope it won't get reduced before even "we" tested it out :(

It won't be significant. It's more about nerfing this and that.(It's been a routine in alpha. Most of the big patches got the same treatment and still, there are lots of players call PoE too hard)

At least the general feedback in alpha is along those lines. But who knows? Perhaps Chris' gonna make it even harder for beta players like you. :)
He who fights with monsters
might take care lest he thereby
become a monster.

Chris said on the first page that they're trying to avoid a wipe. Until a dev states otherwise, you can assume there won't be one.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!
Does wipe mean legacy migration ? If not, can we expect a legacy migration ?

I read it as there is a migration coming unless they find a away to avoid it.

Then quit testing.

If you see no reason to test the game in its current state as there is a major patch coming, then don't. Pretty simple really.

Now if you don't want to 'play' because you don't want to lose progress then you are missing the point of beta.

I've seen everything, waiting for new content/changes to test.
Ya, I would just wait then regardless. There is not a whole lot to gain by testing just before a major patch is released as everything is subject to change.

Haven't played for a week, just want to know if there's a wipe or not so I can think of a new build.

You are missing the fun factor I think. You are correct about the technical issues though, maybe we should wait for the new patch to report and make bug evaluations. But there are still suggestions and ideas we can always contribute with.
On the other side I m still working on a bow for my ranger (sockets and links) and I m hoping to have it done before then new patch. It may be wiped? Yes. But I ll be able to say 'I had that bow...' :)

+1
Current version is fun and challenging. Looking forward to the patch but having fun with my builds now.
