Spellslinger

Triggering spells with Spellslinger was faster and more convenient than other methods of casting spells while leveling. It now has a longer cooldown but gains more cooldown recovery as it levels making it more rewarding to reach higher gem levels. The skill now starts with a reservation override of 30%, scaling down to 25% at gem level 20.

----------------------------------

I did the math. The issue is that Spellslinger now reserves at least 30% of mana, so having 3 of them with no support reserves 90% of mana. Adding ONE support (void manipulation) ANYWHERE gives you a 96% reservation.

We can do Essence Drain and Contagion with full supports but we can't add Soulrend also and have more than 1 support.

----------------------------------

So the solution appears to be manually casting fully-supported Soulrend as well as Frenzy. So 2 buttons rather than one. Agreed?

I feel like for early leveling, just the ED + C from spellslinger damage is enough. Second buttom for soulrend during mapping and blight for bossing maybe?
This build is dead imo.

The spellslinger lvling is just bad now. The more mana-multiplier is too high to support 2 4links and a 2links. I don't even think you can Use 4-3-2.

For glancing blows to be good, you realy need the ES% on block, otherwise the mitigation just isnt high enough to be worthwhile.

Thgere's a pretty good ed/c build using a bow, which is going to be the best option imo if you want to play ed/c. I think going this will be waaaay to much investment for a leaguestarter.

I've been practicing this build and I've got to give it to you Hasunic. You make the best builds that are easy to follow and replicate.

I hope nerfs aren't too bad, but I still want to go this build in Heist league.

Got a link to the specific ED/C bow build you have in mind? I see several.

Ok. I just loooked them over. I actually presumed they were pretty decent, but they look very confusing to understand. I'll try to update this into a regular life/dodge/ailment immune version with the possibility of going CI/Bow.

I wouldnt recommend going GB block because you are so dependent on getting the shaper shield with % ES for GB to be functional now.

I'll try to see if I can comeup with a PoB after I read the patch notes.
I have lots0 on my plate though, because I'm also trying to release a yt video once a week, and that takes a lot of time to prepare.
I hate theorycrafting something without giving it a good practise run.

But what I want to achieve (So you have an idea of what to go for )

CA/TR -> Act 3 -> Bane + Soul Rend (lvling ED/C in offhands) -> path for double curse as fast as possible -> get life / spell damage nodes -> Get Winddancer / Dodge / 20% elemental ailment immunity from Thick Skin cluster.

I am a bit afraid, that the passive tree will be too "streched out" for both double curse and thick skin, but you should later be able to remove the +1 curse and just go for ED+C

I dunno if it will work, but I think that Bane purhaps can give a more smooth lvling experience rather than dualcasting (with slow cast speed) ED/C.

First of all, thanks for the great guide, leveled to maps in ssf without using harvest it was a breeze. Gonna leagues tart with it too, I think 2 4l spellslingers will be enough, maybe farm tabula for 6l blight, idk

Wordt case scenario you can respec trickster to a lot of things, hahaha

I wish a great league for everyone!

@hasunic

So what are we going to league start then?

Ive simulated the spellslinger mana reservation changes.
You can do the same links by investing 4 points into Charisma reservation nodes on the tree.
It all depends at which spellslinger levels change the mana reservation override.
Around 29% should be enough to do the transition with 3 links.
At 26% you can go 4 link.

Using another 3 points to hit the 4% reservation would make it even easier and then we have the Sovereignty nodes later levels if we need to.

You can simuluate the spellslinger change in PoB by adjusting the manaCostOverride values in
"C:\ProgramData\Path of Building\Data\3_0\Skills\act_int.lua" file.

Im still going to give it a go. Just need to stay with poison bow skills for bit longer.
Should still be easy uptil T10 maps spellslinger and change to selfcast or another build then.
