[3.12] Hasunic's ED/C CI Trickster | Glancing Blows | Leaguestarter | Ailment Immunity | 1H + Shield
" I wasnt trying to hurt your feelings. Just missing a red thread in the guide in my opinion, some of the videos are way to outdated to actually be reliable now, you write "300 c" budget on something with a 6link unique staff, a 5link prophecy chest and a vertex (Which is kinda expensive at leaguestart) just seems to far off for my taste. Then there's the fact that you go from leaguestart to 2 ex, which is the same and then showcase a 130 ex build is quite the leap for me. " No worries, I'm just joking around. ^^ I just have a different way than most to explain a character setup in my guide. I personally prefer focusing on the progression, from twilight strand to very expensive gear. Different from the "here's my gear, pob, and explains a few mechanics" that most builds guides are. Showcasing a set of gear and explaining the interaction between the different items/mechanics works just fine, but does a poor job at explaining how to get there. This makes player and influencers recommend "budget" or "leaguestarter" friendly builds. Now, everyone can easily achieve the showcased gear and results, but the character you build out of these guides is often far from finished, barely able to clear endgame content... Let's be honnest here. Most skills need a few exalts of investment to clear sirus 8 and uber elder. This isn't a problem at all, since you're very likely to already have 5ex+ when you reach awakening level 8. But the "clear X on Y budget" guides are imo missing the point: character progression. In a way, this is what you're explaining in your guide too. For each gear piece, you're proposing different options, from budget to very powerful and expensive. The soul skin body armour you're proposing is almost mirror tier, and the citrine amulet will be ~200ex+ in heist. I think it's good for builds to show the endgame potential of each item, as long as they explain what you should get while you don't have the currency for the minmaxed piece and how to aquire them. It gives a goal to dedicated players, and helps lessen the idea that rares are only good for life and resistances. But the more guides cover, the more confusing and overwhelming they get. If you want to play dodge based selfcast ED with a bow, my guide has all the information you'll ever need. And it's a lot of information, the guide's over 100k characters long, which is a problem. Yours has only the important stuff, and it makes for a much cleaner/faster thread. Which is better? Well, I don't know. That's why I try more experimental stuff, like the flowcharts in my thread. No animosity btw. I don't know if I sound salty or whatever here, I'm really not. If anything, I'm glad there's more build guides with different approaches to both formatting and mechanics used to make a skill work for everyone. Peace! <3 TL/DR: I'm bored of these "slap these 1c uniques, life+resistances rares everywhere else, easy deathless uber elder" builds. That's just not how an arpg works. |

" Those flowcharts are amazing. I understand Hasunic when he says "you write "300 c" budget on something with a 6link unique staff, a 5link prophecy chest and a vertex (Which is kinda expensive at leaguestart) just seems to far off for my taste" For example the 2 ex pob costs about 7 ex when you need it (first week of the league): 1 ex for Vertex, 1 ex for transcendent mind, 4 ex for a 6 link and one more ex for corrupted Empower lvl 3 + corrupted Enlighten lvl3 + all the rest of cheap gear/gems. But as you say a guide should not be to complexe, and taking intoo account the evolution of the economy is of the next level for someone that solely rely on the guide to navigate. From my user perspective, both guides are well done so just keep it up fellow exiles. |

I was still excited to play this variant with 65% glancing blows but the new placement is looking grim :(

" Ill update a PoB as soon as possible, so you will have an idea of what to assume about damage and ehp [3.9]Hasunic's Toxic Rain Trickster: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2712106

Updated PoB: https://pastebin.com/zC5zvDTd
It turned out pretty well. You shouldnt be too scared of leaguestarting with it. If it fails, you can always respec into either a Life Bow ED/C build with dodge or my Caustic Arrow build :) That's strong this league too. Damn, you're fast.
btw, do you mind if I link your guide in mine, for people who want to play glancing blows instead of dodge based? I don't currently have a good CI GB alternative recommended there ^^' I assume the pros and cons compared to dodge hybrid would be: + Much more resiliant against oneshot, better suited for hardcore + Tankyness kicks in early, no weak point around early red maps + No rare uniques, suited for SSF - Slightly slower movement speed (still fast, no worries) - Half the singletarget damage |

I have no issues with you linking to the guide.
The guides are just here to help ppl, and that would certainly be helpful to ppl who would like a different playstyle :) [3.9]Hasunic's Toxic Rain Trickster: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2712106

Question about the late spellslinger phase, before we manage to transition to selfcast, which given the switch conditions (full ascendy + trigger wand) should not happen before late yellow maps:
We should reach the Soverignty cluster right before lvl 80, which puts us in early yellow maps I believe. Which means we will go through white maps and early yellow maps with a weaker setup than 4L ED + 3L Soulrend + 2L Contagion. Basically with one or two support less (can't simulate it right now)?Do you think it will be enough damage at this stage? Also did you use lvl 20 spellslinger with 25% reservation for the prediction of 4L ED + 3L Soulrend + 2L Contagion + soverignty being just fine? It's a bit early for lvl 20 gems if I'm not confused. |

I don't have time for a full run to see if it's enough.
You can go self cast if the damage falls off at any point. I don't think a 4l and 3l would be enough damage, but maybe a 5link essence drain with contagion alone would be enough. The 0.99 reservation calculation is based on 30% reserve spellslinger and void manipulation + controlled destruction + the early mana reduction nodes (0.3*1.2*1.3+0.3*1.2+0.3)*0.88 You can try to replace the 0.3 with lower numbers to see when you can add another 30% multiplier for another link or add sovereignty (so the last multiplier is 0.74) [3.9]Hasunic's Toxic Rain Trickster: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2712106
