[PS4] Common PS4 Client Crashes
São Paulo, Brazilian server.
Terrible lag spikes, stutters, crashes... such a nice game, but unplayable when you start tier 4 above. Any news? Maybe PS4 just can't handle all the calculations and crashes?
My 41st blue screen was just walking into a map and attacking a mob...
of course I died because of it. I've died more to these blue screens than anything else. Why isn't there some sort of protection, like if you are crashing you can't take damage or just reduce the XP loss. This league is just miserable. |
|
I'm done.
I tried to enjoy a broken league that requires stupid amounts of micromanagement but I'm constantly dying to crashes and can't advance so I won't bother. I might return in 3.12 but I'll likely find something else to play in the next 3 months. It is sad really because poe has so much potential but it is never realised for console players. Edit: uninstalled the game. Enough is enough. Last edited by Mrnickwan on Jul 1, 2020, 2:03:44 AM

Playing in the morning hours with less people online works in standard without problems for 2 hrs now. Maybe GGG should think about there servers.

" I tried to play at 7AM (São Paulo server) today with a cold console. It worked way better at start but at 8AM the problems started (main issue is the fact my character kepps moving and spamming flicker strikes but nothing hits the targets for several seconds, then a I need to to keep moving until it suddenly backtracks to somewhere and starts to work again). It seems to be related to overheating the console CPU and/or number of players online.
I think it might have to do something with the sound assets. When you kill a large amount of mobs in 1 go, sometimes the sound drops 70% in volym so you can almost not hear anything. until you finish the map the sound gets restored.
This I think might be the reason why the game BSOD so often so far, There are also some visual errors on golems and on freeze/chill effects that can have an effect on the BSOD
I don't know if anyone else is seeing this but since Harvest launched, Ruined Titans (and all other mobs of his type) don't look right. Standard variants look like they're in heavy shadow and magic/rare variants don't have a blue/yellow aura so much as they're entirely blue/yellow and it looks awful (as in it seems obvious that they're not meant to look like that).
Also getting intermittent BSOD crashes with seemingly no obvious cause. Not as many as before the recent hotfix so clearly some causes have been fixed but it's definitely still happening far too often. I play every evening and will see at least 1 - 2 crashes, hope they manage to fix this soon. Personally I would prefer effort to go to this before any rebalancing of league mechanics (if it's a question of where to put the resources). Also does anyone know why the load times are so bad on PS4? It's a couple of seconds on PC and 30-60 on PS4 - is it simply the difference of an SSD (on PC) or are the load times server-based?
I experienced only 2 blue screens with a regular error reporting. But I am getting a lot of dashboard crashes. The game freezes and only 10% it recovers after a few seconds and I walk fast like the wind to catch up or so and the other 90% it seems to crash the whole network of the console and I crash to the dashboard, saying I should login back to PSN. It seems the game is blocking the whole network, I can log back instantly and have no network issues whatsoever. Its on proper cable, no wifi and internet connection is a 2 gbit fiber and no other devices or games have any issue (pc is running in parallel) - Ps4 Pro
I am going todo a reinstall.
I guess I will try deleting and re-installing the game as well. It BSOD's roughly every 20-30 minutes for no apparent reason. Could be just standing in town or literally anything and it still constantly crashes. A fix for this is needed ASAP or console players are just going to quit playing due to the sheer frustration. Update: After deleting and re-installing the game I have now been playing for more than 3 hours without a single crash. Maybe this is just coincidence but it has solved the problem for me so far. Hopefully it holds true. You might want to try this and see if helps you all as well. Good luck exiles!
