Announcing Path of Exile: Harvest

Farming for items. I get it. Sofa knee.

The new supporter packs, to my eyes, are the very definition of "mailing it in". The weapon skin -- which, I confess, I'm glad to see as a welcome change from weapon effects -- seems very half-hearted, what with (a) only changing a weapon to either a sword or a scythe, and (b) according to at least one report, not being usable with very many weapons.

The armour sets are very lackluster. About the only thing I saw that made me think I might want to spring for, was the wings on the Benevolence supporter pack. That was about it. I'm sick to death of ho-hum armour sets and both armour sets from these supporter packs definitely fit that definition.

And Harvest itself? When even a trailer can't spark my interest -- a trailer supposedly being expressly for the purpose of sparking interest -- I feel that doesn't bode well for the coming league. There was one faint tickle of interest when the trailer showed being able to replace an existing socket with a white one, but it does make me wonder if said white socket would survive any further chromatic orbs. If not, then the whole white socket recipe gets a big "what's the point" from me. After all, if your item is only one socket off, why waste a white socket recipe on that? Especially if it may well replace the wrong socket?

Oh, and the supporter pack weapon effects are the same tracer-heavy silliness they've been pushing for a couple of years now. I really hate that. It seems like someone dropped acid and fell in love with the results. Not every fight should become a rave, m'kay?
"People ask me why I do this at my age. People are rude."
I see that new league will give PoE Farming a whole new meaning :)

Can be fun ... I hope :)

In the other hand , that support packs don't hype me at all .. what with those colors , again . With that league title and theme color , one would think that supporter packs will be ,i don't know brighter ? greener ? maybe those blue title theme colors ... but again dark red and bit flashy yellow . That is unfortunate .

Made me remember Bestiary League when I captured as many mobs as possible in the maps but never visited the Menagerie.

This time seeds will occupy inventory space and you will have to visit the Sacred Grove to plant them.

I did not really like this theme, but will give it a go.

Once again we hit the complete lack of balance between the very small amount of extremely hardcore players against the rest "normal" players who for some reasons the elitists call "casuals" because they play "only" like 6-8 hours a day, that's considered casual for some reason, damn normies.

If you play 6 - 8 hours per day and you don't get to see endgame or pretty much do everything you want, it is not because of the game. Either you play a bazillion of different chars (like I do) or you do not play but just have the game running while complaining on a forum, watching YouTube or Twitch (like I do).

Really depends on what content you are doing too tbh though. I have at times lingered on yellow maps because the builds I was on were quite on the low end performance wise and I wasn't trying to maximise them, at which point I was enjoying a lot of content in that difficulty area. There is so much to do in this game.

Along with the things you also said :D

I mean, I now have a few characters that can do T16 like its an absolute joke (one of them the only character I killed Sirus on, the second got close, but no cigar) and tbh I have even more content I can be playing now and yet, like you said, I am again on a new character trying different things xD

At this pace I'll never be a true grinding end gamer :P

Guess that makes me a "casual", lol
Nice! ... but please don't add rng based challenges like ... ''leave it to chance'' ... that ain't fun :D

I don't like all the "non-luckluster" armours. Personally I think PoE has reached the circus clown level with the MTX armours, I walk into a town and absolutely hate the experience and the immersion-thrown-down the drain approach this creates. People with wings, cyclones, and bloody Avatars summoned over them. Seriously, there should be a "let me play in a raggedy old town with nobody else there unless they are raggedy too" option for this game. Its getting annoying.

Think these mtx looked the least clown Ive seen in a while. And yet here you are praising the wings :D

Each to their own.

I do agree though, the league announcement has me conflicted and half interested tbh. Im more excited about new skills than the league mechanic itself.

The crafting looks interesting, but idk, whole thing is kinda meh atm for me. On that white socket example you gave though... Well, I can think of a range of scenarios where a white socket can be very helpful. Especially those god awful armours that simply will always have those last 3 sockets in their main colour. Which means, a white socket has a 50% chance to land on one of those 3 sockets you are trying to change. Still RNG based, which I dislike, but isnt everything in this game? :(

idk... seems to me I might be skipping the league entirely and sticking to Standard this season xD

edit: I mean, I loved Delirium and still spent 75% of my time in Standard. lol. Don't think this league will even get me interested to reach maps the way I see it.

Seeds occupy inventory space? I'm sure this will be "fixed" a week later, just as it happened to the organs of Metamorph-league a while ago. The complaints about the inventory occupation have just been too much.

Give us a seed bag!
Yet ANOTHER crafting system in the game. How many do we have now, 5?

Wouldn't it be nice if they actually combined all of this residual flotsam and jetsam of content into a UNIFIED crafting system - where each of the legacy systems were reconfigured to support different aspects of that new system?

As it stands now, you can farm each of the disparate systems, but once you've achieved whatever goals you had for that system, you've got a bunch of crap you no longer need, then you have to start farming the next crafting domain. To eventually gather things you'll eventually not need.

Yes, you can trade away some things, but that leads to even more time NOT playing the game. There's too much time wasted in the meta-game already.

GGG should be looking for ways to cut wasted time - not making that problem worse.

You are the 3rd person I saw say this.

To clarify, they have their own "stash" like thing from what they said. You can put them in your inventory so you can trade them, but they use their own stash.

It's not only the problem that some players have not enough time to reach some stuff. A lot of players are not good enough for this. A friend , who is one of the CASUALS, reached SIRUS after one week with a storm brand build. Everyone with some brain can do this with starter meta builds.

The same topic, like in Diablo 3.

Thats a huge problem imo, what you just said, "starter and meta builds"...
Some people play an arpg like an arpg and not a moba or whatever else.
One of the fundamental foundations to an arpg is discovering and making your own builds, further more adding to the ROLE PLAYING experience of making characters and making your own choices for how you want to play.

Its not a lack of "some brain" if some people don't metawh#re xD
Its an outright refusal cause some of us want to actually enjoy the game.

Its like having that annoying cousin sitting with you and as you are trying to play a new game they are always up your ass "oh, and you can do this, and oh, you can do this, and oh, you can do this bow build!"... "But I want to play with a bloody hammer!"... "Hammers suck, do a bow build!"
mmmm. much fun.

It amuses me that people actually simulate this experience by going out there to look for it on their own online :P

My english is bad, so it was some missunderstanding in my post. I wanted to say, that everybody can do the league stuff with meta builds in short time. If someone wants to play an own created build so it is possible that he cannot reach each stuff in the league. For this you need some knowledge about this game and some brain energy ;-) There are some gem skills, that are not so strong and for this you will need much better gear and/or maybe an exotic build mechanic to claim T16 maps.
I try every league own builds. Some are working, but not all.
