Announcing Path of Exile: Harvest

It seems like GGG just can't find the proper balance, it's always on the extreme ends.

You get either super fast zoom-zoom league like Delirium or extremely slow, boring and overcomplicated micromanagement like Synthesis and now Harvest.

Same with loot. You either get massive loot explosions like Legion or some tedious and obnoxious mega crafting like Synthesis (what a coincidence!) and now Harvest. Not to mention that the promises of "extreme crafting that will break the game" are pretty much useless since we all know that this part of the crafting will be accessible to some 0,1% of the players (that's generous).

Once again we hit the complete lack of balance between the very small amount of extremely hardcore players against the rest "normal" players who for some reasons the elitists call "casuals" because they play "only" like 6-8 hours a day, that's considered casual for some reason, damn normies. Getting so sick of this stupid forced division between "casuals" and "hardcores" and this overwhelming focus of the game around the top 0,1% of the top 0,1% of players every single goddamn league... What's the point of designing new leagues when most of the people will never even see most of the new content? This is not a MMO with persistent world where the content is always available and some people will see it sooner, others later. This is a limited event and then the content is gone or the chances to encounter it in the new league are reduced so much that if you didn't manage to do the content in the previous league, good luck doing it in the next. You're not an MMO so stop acting like one.

Oh, and one more thing. STOP with the damn minigames. If I want to play Factorio, I will go play Factorio. If I want to play a tower defense, guess what - I will go play a tower defense game. I know, right, what a strange idea. I'm playing PoE because I love ARPGs. "A" standing for "Action". And it may come as a complete surprise to you but managing a farm is not "action" (IKR?).

Also these type of games are called "looters" for a reason. Because... people like to "loot" stuff after killing stuff (I know, right, another revolutionary concept). Not waste time growing fruits and vegetables in the hope that after 1000 hours in the league I will hit that uber mega meta craft mode and paste a useless screenshot of 5 mirrors meta crafted item on Reddit.

I feel like the people who are complaining about the contents of this league aren't heavily invested into the end-game. Casual players who put maybe 200-400 hours into a league don't invest into crafting / don't know how to craft for profit and thus are turned off by the time investment of a league like this. I'm super pumped for it and enjoy the ability to micromanage for profit.

A casual player to you is 200-400 hours per league?? Do you realize that is substantially more playtime then almost any other games get? Casual players might put 20-50 hours in per league if that. Anyone putting 200-400 hours into a league is an elite player.

200 hours equates to playing 6.6 hours a day for 30 days. 400 hours would be 6.6 hours for 60 days. That is a lot of playtime buddy. You sir are proving their point. You have to play 200-400 hours to even see a lot of the content. That is their point.

Well, a league is ~ 90 days. Playing 2 hours a day gives 180 hours played. Balor Mage has made a series, playing only 1.5 hours per day with a brand new account and he reached Sirus I think within the first 20 days. So it certainly is possible even for a casual player to see endgame.

But in general you are of course right. A casual player that only want or can invest 20 to 50 hours per league might not get to the endgame. On the other hand, players that have more time will not be satisfied if they've seen everything within 50 hours. I think GGG does currently a rather good job in letting you reach endgame within a reasonable time but requiring quite a bit of investment if you really want to dive deep into it.

That said, if you only have 20 to 50 hours in a 3 month span, you probably should look towards Standard ... or other games. As with most other things in life, trying to appease everyone will please no one.
Yes...keep on adding every league mechanic to the core game to further confuse new, and long time returning players.

And at this point, I'm too afraid to ask when GGG is going to start tuning back the ridiculous combat speed... I guess never. They're afraid they would lose a big portion of the playerbase to that. I guess the game is doomed forever now. Didn't think I would ever say this, but I hope Diablo 4 is not going to follow PoE's example.

It's not only the problem that some players have not enough time to reach some stuff. A lot of players are not good enough for this. A friend , who is one of the CASUALS, reached SIRUS after one week with a storm brand build. Everyone with some brain can do this with starter meta builds.

The same topic, like in Diablo 3.

can't say I agree with everything you said, but that part there was pure gold :D
The core complaint I foresee with this league is that... you only interact with the league mechanic once every several maps rather than every map? Still, the rewards look commensurate at a glance so it should be fun.
Not really a fan of this new league. We need new content, not even more crafting options to confuse even more people. We already have a crapton of ways to craft.

This....this seems like bestiary with extra steps and a pinch of synthesis.
I wish there would be a different color for
the supporter Packs than Red/yellow Like Last League :( how about Green/blue?
