Just so you know, this game is already riddled with cheats. Here are a few examples
This is plain sad, ive been playing no life since the ob, i have like 28Days of time played i play mostly solo running maps with 270 iir and 120 iiq and clearing them at a reasonable speed after many tweaks to my gear, i put effort on that and i have a 6L wich i bough for 23 Exalteds and i have 13 Exalteds in my stash, this guy on the pick has WAY WAY more than that (just those 2 mirrors of kalandra pfft) and i bet he didnt put half the effort on it, if GG doesnt give us /Player x to at least put us on kinda equall foot ill quit this game, and i already regret wasting money on alot of stash tabs to fill them with crappy uniques while some guys swim on currency by these means.
Ill bump this thread everytime i can, people gotta see this, its absurd. IGN - Slayonara

" Read six pages, skipped six, but this quote sums it up for me. Why are you guys jealous of people cheating here? What's the point of cheating here? If you get all of the items, and get yourself up to level 100, what are you going to do for fun? There's no point. Same deal as the RMAH in D3, really. I don't get why people do it, but they do. It doesn't effect me either way though. If I could stop them I would, but I can't. |

" It doesn't take genius to understand why hackers ruin games, but I'll simplify it for you anyway: -Online MMOs are dependent on trading, the top rich hackers determine the market price therefore making gear price unbuyable for the average non hacking player. -PVP is ruined for anyone who doesn't have top gear. -The Dsync problem is already restraining the servers, with each hacker running 6 characters you can see why. -With auto loot hack, it makes partying even more pathetic when you have bots stealing your loot. -It's unmotivating to play legitimately when you know you can do it 6X better and maphack, therefore completely changing the game play. " I don't think this game is that dependent on trading but, to the extent that it is, I've had no problems trading with people. I haven't picked up any super top end items either, but still. I agree it's bad for the economy when you have people doing this of course, and would prefer they didn't. " That's true. I guess I'm kind of blind to this since I don't pvp much in games like this one. You're right. " I've never had any loot stolen in parties in any unusual way like this... if it was happening frequently I'd certainly be upset. But I haven't experienced it at all. No one I play with has brought this up either. " Fair enough. That's definitely no good. " This is my main thing though. Why are you unmotivated, you're not doing it six times better if you're getting your items handed to you - you're simply defeating the point of playing (the "you" here is referring to a random whoever, not the poster above me). Who cares if someone with a maphack is running through areas faster than you? The enjoyment of competitive stuff comes from competition, which typically involves an equal footing. If they're not on an equal footing with you, just disregard them. They're entirely irrelevant. And if you're maphacking yourself... I don't get it. Where's the achievement/bragging rights/etc in going somewhere faster that way? It's just not there. I don't see why you'd do it, but if you do it doesn't effect my ability to compete with people who don't cheat in the slightest. Last edited by Valeli#0870 on Mar 24, 2013, 8:37:38 PM

This thread actually explains the recent inflation. Multiboxing is sweeping the playerbase, and as more and more people do it, nobody gives a rat's ass about currency smaller than GCP's because their stashes naturally fill to the brim with them.
It's good to see an image behind all the snobby kids who only accept GCP/Exalts for all their godly item trades. For all you unperceptive idiots saying "don't worry about it, play at your own pace," you really seem to have no idea how this effects literally everyone. I mean - unless you ACTUALLY plan on progressing all the way to endgame and beyond purely from items you have DROP for you. In which case, I wish you THE best of luck. But any real player of PoE, no matter how sheltered their playstyle, will EVENTUALLY have to trade with the community. And when everything is so ungodly inflated because a person's stash has 700 Chaos Orbs, 200 GCP's, and 50 Exalts... I'd LOVE to see the legitimate player with 4 Chaos and MAYBE a GCP or two manage to slip in their amazing offers on items being bid on by everyone else. And alternatively, I'd LOVE to see them craft the gear they need to clear maps with the same said amount of orbs that they legitimately acquire. |

Why does one /have/ to trade? Is this game really that different from D2 back when you could do these things single player offline? Plenty of people played that mostly by themselves and, while I can't speak for all of them, I know I had a great time. Speaking of Single Player games and rampant cheating, I had a great time in D1 as well and only got online there like... twice... with my lousy beep beep whirrrrr beeep modem. You can play this by yourself too if you want, or simply team up with like minded people (believe it or not, many many more people don't cheat than do, despite the fact that a few people can somewhat ruin it for everyone else).
You certainly get enough orbs to craft things on your own. I'm not sure where the 4 chaos orbs and 1 GCP comes from. I've got somewhere around 12 chaos orbs and 5 GCPs, and have played a lot less than other people (GCP's aren't /that/ hard to get by vendoring garbage quality gem drops, which are fairly frequent). Will you get a perfectly rolled whatever that way? Probably not. But you don't need it to do well or enjoy yourself either, and you can always keep striving for a better rolled one. That sort of longevity isn't a "scam", as some people in the first half of this thread were implying. It's nice design imo. Last edited by Valeli#0870 on Mar 24, 2013, 9:02:08 PM

" you dont need perfect gear to play endgame. I have yet to trade for a single piece of gear, the only trades i have done were skill gems. Now if you are the kind of person who needs to be the best of the best and have the spotlight i get where your coming from. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

" Because the only way to stop it is to limit IP connections to 1 per IP and you can't be sure that isn't just a LAN or w/e instead of multiboxing. |

To Eraserwind :
First of all, as you see in those youtube vids, multiboxers have a real big problem on syncing their characters, so basically it would be wasting their time on syncing every character when they desynced. Unless you farm for Merci A2 Vaal, however it's not as easy and as fast like before<old chaos recipe> And your computer has to be really strong to handle 6x multiboxing, so I'd bet it's 1% of player base who has the ability and time to do that. and yes good luck on 300$ VGA card LOL. So other than Vaal farm, 6x multiboxing can't do anything man, in a map? yeah good luck with 6x time you waste on a map......Low level currencies farming? Yeah you call it efficient comparing to End-game grinding? That's insanity. Second of all, Maphack and Zoomhack or even fullbright hack Maybe the maphack+zoomhack will seriously affect HC and Race gameplay, so this needs to end. Chris gave a shout-out to maphack user a warning in a ramdom vid tho. Now to Auto-Pick it scripts, I am sorry man, but currently they can only filter "name of loot" which means you cannot write 6S 6L or any whites which have value it in, since orbs rares currencies are distributed. And finally please prove the stash belongs to a hack user, thank you. Otherwise no evidence no respect. Last edited by minimalistjason#6304 on Mar 24, 2013, 9:10:04 PM

Really you are blaming GGG because people used hacks and cheated? You post this stuff like GGG intended for this to happen. You actually made this worse cause you informed people that these hacks are out there so now there is going to be more now. Congratulations. You may as well tag yourself yourself as a cheater as well. In all honesty who the heck cares I dont play this game thinking what are the other guys doing.
