0.10.4b and 0.10.5 Patch Details

Strength Support Gem - Melee Splash: Adds an area of effect splash radius to a single target melee attack.

So every melee skill does additional physical damage as splash or does it trigger effects too like dominating blow, viper strike etc.

What damage to target skills really need is a pure str support gem less chance of being interrupted. Unwaverring stance is simply too much of a must for melee characters.
And there aren't enough connected Stun Nodes.

There are some close to Whirling Barrier and at the Mara Tree.
But that's it. I would like to see far more entries to major nodes to create a build diversity.
For example something like 2 Stun Reduction Nodes 1 Life Node and then you can reach Smashingstrikes from an Int node.

Switch Blood Thirst and Strong Arm Move Shield Nodes up and connect Critical with Dual Wielding Nodes.
Connect Strong Arm with Bulwark. The cost is the same but instead of stacking block you got damage and low block.

Or even support more Hybrid builds. Create a major Node like->Fire Damage Modifications Apply to your minions instead of you and connect it to Spectre/another node up there.

Connect Immolation With Breath of Rime too. Reason: Cold to Fire Gem gets some use.

Mirror the Addional minions close to Templar, add 2 elemental+chaos Resists for zombies/skeletons and connect it with soul siphon(including minions)

A major weakness in of PoE is that all major builds are build around outer highways and there some skills skills you take on those highways.
There aren't enough combinations of major nodes like Wandslinger to Breath of Rime.
There should be more of those and single life nodes should get added so taking some more nodes isn't a suicide mission. The only nodes who shouldn't have more than one entry are major wheels and those should become more attractive.

Strength/Dexterity Support Gem - Multistrike: Causes you to attack quickly three times with a melee attack. New targets are selected for subsequent attacks if available.

Somehow I expect a too high "less damage" modifier.
Would it be possible to remove/reduce critical strikes on this gem and keep the efficient damage.
So instead of 50 less damage something like "No critical strikes" 0,2-0.5*crit chance/multiplier

This gem will ironically be the strongest gem for crit dagger shadows.

Basically because-> Crit chance 60%+ Multiplier 400% 50% damage crit->200% damage.

Str melee characters are based on constant damage. Dex builds on high multipliers.

Intelligence Support Gem - Power Charge on Critical: Critical strikes with the supported skill have a chance of granting you a Power Charge.

Sorry but I don't think that's a good idea to bring Diamond flasks back in gem Form.
Crit builds are already the strongest builds.
Imo it should be a low chance on kill, with a low multiplier so every build has the same chance.

I think that there should be more ways of acquiring power charges but not with such a big advantage for pure crit builds.

Simple Idea how it could look like: Quillrain, increased crit chance, faster attacks, faster projectiles and some skill like split arrow-->Switch to wand or something else->6-7 Powercharges.

A Caster Version of Warlords Mark like Sorcerers Mark would be one way to generate those charges.
I have to say, the current loot system ads more thrill to the game. But at the same time takes a little bit of focus away from the combat when playing with randoms.

exactly. the current concept of the endurance charges are very frustrating and it doesnt add to survability, it detracts. having to have spam the skill takes too much time and in the end survability.

please add another possibility to gain endurance charges or make one charge wear off at a time instead all charges at once.


Fully agree. I've given up on endurance charges as I tend to take more damage whilst casting from getting close to the mob to get any endurances charges than I save. I've now gone for temporal chains as this can be cast before I get to the middle of the mob and slows everything down.

@Chris many thanks for the continued updates and info, and just to add my agreement of no worries about waiting. Much prefer thought out and tested ideas rather than quick insta-fixes than need to be reworked constantly to work.
Flicker + Multistrike + Power charge on crit.
Hell yes now we will be able to gain power charges easier!
I love that idea.

Splash + multi strike + dominating blow could be really fun.

Of course Glacial hammer may actually be used now too :)

I feel like heavy strike will be op with this gem and you guys will make it too weak because of that though :(

I'm excited I hope you guys keep bringing cool skills to the table there, really are not enough currently.

Well I have 8k Ground Slam dps and IT'S low.. i mean u have to hit white mobs twice and it takes 3-4 heavy strikes to kill blues in 70+ =/

As for support gems. I very much hope they will be OP, it's about time melee got some MAJOR love, cause seriously, LA\FP is OP AS DUCK, why can't melee have something like that?

I see serious dmg reduction on those sktlls which will blow cause u know... less phys dmg per hit is the worst thing in the game. I say those skills will duck big time, I hope I'm totally wrong and I don't have to reroll my lovely PoE mara back to d3 WW barb.

i'm just thinking... Karui Maul + Melee Splash + Multistrike + Heavy Strike .. what do you think guys??? Karui Maul has this "Gems in this Item are Supported by Level 15 Increased Area of Effect".. do you think it will improve the splash effect of heavy strike + melee splash ??? still new to the game... doesn't really know the mechanics ^^,
