And the 4th Spectre? Death Attunement?

Edit: I transitioned and I like it a lot so far. The spectres and Zombies were rather squishy at first. Then I finally unveiled the min endurance charges craft and could replace Disciple of the Unyielding anointment with Indomitable Army. Now it is much better. However, they do die frequently, but I guess that's normal and is the reason we socket blood magic? The only thing giving them rather big trouble was Baran's lightning fields.
I assume Fortify from the Kingmaker will be another big boost for their survivability (and mine apparently)?

Is there any way to "test" my trial AG? I have yet to see his hitpoints move at all, so right now he feels very stable to me at around 75k life. Or are the certain situations that are tricky for him?

how to craft rotten claws + renewal + primordial bond cluster jewel in 3.12 without harvest? What is the best way to do this?

I was running a carnage chieftain, a host chieftain, they of tul, and arena master.

Carnage and host boost DPS. So does the Arena Master. They of tul is an AOE defense buff.

I get zombies killed every so often, spectres very occasionally, and the AG "never" - actually twice last league. Then I bought a spare set of gear for when I got him killed the 3rd time, and he never died again. :) My biggest source of losing spectres was running the lab, but for a totally silly reason - I'd enchant my helm, which unsummons all critters, and forget to re-summon everything before I ported out of the end room. Then I'd have to beg in global 820 for They of Tul and Arena Master spectre corpses again. Eventually I leveled a spectre bank.

Blood magic is because the carnage and host chieftains have a very small mana pool, so they don't cast their buffs that often. Switching them to blood magic means they cast far more often, and their buffs are almost always active.

Kingmaker will help both offensively and defensively. Fortify gives you 20% less damage taken from hits, which is nice! Plus culling strike, which is also nice. And this applies to both you and your minions - EXCEPT the AG himself.

Testing the AG is tricky - the toughest content I ran into for minions was Atziri, Hall of the Grandmasters, and sometimes Sims, especially if both bosses show up at the same time. The AG was fine in the Sim, but I'd lose zombies and spectres. HOTGM destroys all my minions. I could still clear it... eventually... but I did a LOT of resummoning, and ran it without the AG after he died the first time. Atziri was a pain in the rump as well. I just unsummon the AG for risky tasks, I'd rather take the DPS hit than have to source another set of AG gear.

Alteration until you get two of them, then regal and pray.
Orb of scouring if you don't get the last one (after the regal), then repeat.

Sorry, missed that earlier.

Death attunement on the tree gets you +1.

Level 25 gem gets you 3. So with both, you get 4.

Corrupt level 21 gem, +3 helmet, +1 int gems on amulet, gives you level 25.

If you're flush with currency, you can get wands or a staff that boost the level as well, which makes them even tougher. I'm not sure what the cost on those this league is, however, but I suspect it's quite high.

No, I was just curious about the tree. Getting there will force me to drop another bit of life, but it's 10% MORE damage after all and fortify from AG will make up for that (with the exception of him being out of range). The helmet is my last big investment. I am actually there, but I want one with Life and that pushes it to 5 Ex+. Come to think of it, the actual last investment will be a +1/+1 amulet with a good life roll that mine lacks (man, this makes you miss harvest).

I'm only running 80% as well, it's fine. The extra 3% comes from the cluster jewel notable, Born of Chaos. It comes on small clusters.
