GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
It's been too far for ages; you're just really late to the party.

Seeing more and more claims of 'cure' from gun-jumping scientists. These people are very intelligent and very much expert in their fields, but they are also human and not immune to hype and premature fanfare. After all, just giving people hope can result in more funding and support for your work. Very seductive stuff for academics and researchers, that.

I do believe with all our resources, and now that it's not 'just' China, a vaccine will be found fairly quickly but it's one thing to say 'it worked on these people', and another altogether to do rigorous testing and then enter widespread production. The logistics are...daunting, to say the least.

Still, it's nice to know that 'we'll ride it out' has a tangible end goal beyond thinning the herd.

When you say "Nein" to the guy with the guns.

Also please don´t hype this, no announcments have been made of breakthroughs, the estimates are a vaguely "in some months", the politicians are pleased to show what happens if the Schengenraum would collapse and are happily driving a test for yet another singlemarket approach, there are more than one companies on it, its beneficial for the envoirment, alleppo´s airport still has a better rating than berlins, theres still plenty of time to propolise your door but make sure enough oxygen can pass through.

This is making the rounds. I was curious, so I pulled up the page...sure enough, there's an edited version. This is it, from my own desktop.

SAVAGERY.

Again, just sharing for the levity. Neither country has handled it particularly well.

Don't think any US citizen will be mad about that.
Oh, you'd be surprised (or not). The comments (which make very clear the edit is legitimate) skewed occasionally very indignant on the behalf of those who bleed red, white and blue.

Anyway, that's that.

So because news is moving so fast, one thing I've noticed is the standard of editing/proof-reading has gone through the floor lately. Some of these articles might as well be collated, unedited tweets. This is nothing new to, say, gaming journalism, where writers scramble for attention and clicks, but basic news sites? They're usually a bit better than this. THAT SAID, it is incredibly ungracious to get caught up on typos and the like when it's a doctor reporting from the front line. So...that's interesting but ultimately trivial. One of my daily newsletters from a political historian is always impeccably written but she's a serious academic. Most things though? All about being just coherent enough to convey information. And that suffices.

Hmm how to handle this delicately...FUCK THEM.

Let's see them come crying to poor infrastructure US when Russia...you know what, it doesn't matter.

Norway has the diversity similar to farming community in Iowa, and similar scaled social issues to deal with as well.

THE ENTIRE COUNTY IS SMALLER THAN THE POPULATION OF NEW YORK CITY ALONE.

In times like this, I think they should basically stfu and go ski.

Thanks for the levity Norway, you are clueless, arrogant, and popping off shots at an ally you need desperately.

Spoiler
I do like Vikings however, looking forward to the new season. Thanks Norway!

My mate's got it and I went in for testing today. Fuck me. Looks like I'm gonna be no-lifing this league for longer than anticipated.
