Corona virus
edit: Dad will be fine, or he won't. He's not taking it seriously, as I imagine a lot of people his age aren't.
__ It's amazing watching Dr John's intelligence just bounce off the talking headfaces. Just amazing. Also, RT is the RT of the West -- once it rebranded from Russia Today to RT, it became far more palatable for Western viewers. Curiously, a friend of mine reacted the same way to Al Jazeera, which has become a legitimate left-centrist news source despite its very agenda-driven origins. Neither RT or Fox transcended their origins. Anyway, good to see Dr John get more exposure, even if it's to do nothing more than be interrupted and show people how to wash their hands (abridged). __ So many stores are closing now. I do wonder if this will be the great test of our internet infrastructure. Amusingly retail has been lamenting the effect of online shopping on their revenue for ages; online shopping will very likely be their only recourse soon. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. I was thinking the same. Bezos must be raking it in even more than usual.
When faced with legitimate truth-telling, the Fox people go into full damage control mode. |

Here's your 'fuckme' nibble from Dr John today:
Manila, population of about 20 million, has shut down all routine hospital admissions and operations. That's including surgery that would otherwise be necessary. Fuck. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

What's going to happen as a result of the information on this graph? I sure hope there are new facilities being constructed. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Specific moment in today's video: it's possible that traditional reactions to fever (aspirin, paracetamol, nsaids, steroids) are making things worse. He stated if he got a fever, he'd just ride it out at this point. I imagine there'll be more research on this soon, but it's worth noting for now. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

Thank goodness for this doctor, his natural communication ability and his reach.

It's heart-breaking to watch him be right. Every day, his demeanour is a little less kind-old-man, and a little more I-am-so-disappointed-in-you schoolteacher.

"The world is not ending. I mean, between us, I get that you're trying to crack a joke about your political orientation. But as far as general readership is concerned, Poe's Law is still in effect. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. How about these rich petrol bastards in the Middle East. Pretty sure they can shell out some billions.

*sigh* I wish this were even vaguely surprising. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
