Changes to the Atlas of Worlds in Path of Exile: Delirium

To me, I have never have any issue with Map Sustaining last league or any other league. In fact, now I have more T15 T16 Maps, which, I won't do, than I need.

I welcome any change about to make, but, truth is, some Maps are really frustrating to run ( Cell, Overgrown, Dungeon, series of Crypt, Carcass, ... ) and I would never run those if I have any other Maps.

Reason:
- Bad tileset: Objects block your movement too many times.
- Bad atmosphere: Color theme is just not suitable for running over and over again.
- Boring theme: Architecture loops multiple times look really boring.

Example:
+ Villa Map is enjoyable but Palace, Residence are not.
+ Malformation is enjoyable, but Carcass, Core are not.
+ Maze/Crypt series: Sunken City, Ancient City are enjoyable but Bone Crypt, Cursed Crypt are not.
...

So, I think the core problem is, some Maps really need to be redesigned to make it actually enjoyable. Stay close to the game theme is good, but some theme just can't do for too many time.

It has been a while since you last released some new Map tileset, maybe it's time ?

Nothing on Earth lasts forever.
As an SSF player and a person who likes to bang my head against certain maps til something specific is acquired through cards, I really miss Cartographer's Seal's
How about add Carto Seals back so we dont have to stress that we complete wrong maps, since a lot of your maps are really annoying. And we want to decide ourselves what we farm.
damn this sucks, should've just left it the way it was man.
I dont think ill bother with the next league if this happens. Enjoyed the last one, Delirium looks like a recycled version of Breach league.
You tell me to do this
He tells me to do that
You are all bastards
Go fuck your mother

Anyway, I'm a bit bored with and tired of the nerf game. The top 1% of your player base should not be the ones you listen to 99% of the time.

How hard is it to understand that reduced player retention kills games and that reduced enjoyment and freedom leads to reduced player retention?

I get that your name is Grinding Gear Games, but Blizzard doesn't make you play in an actual snowstorm to get the good stuff. At some point, you're gonna have to let that "Herp derp iT's iN oUr naME!" mentality go.

And I say this all as someone who really has no life and plenty of time to grind away at the game, but unlike the countless elitist simpleton schmucks out there, I get how important it is for a game like this to have a thriving HAPPY community ('community' doesn't mean 1% of the player base, btw).

So yea, even if countless changes effectively mean little more to me than brief annoyance because I can and will grind away, I know I'm not the average player; and exclusively catering to me and other players like me will, in the long run, hurt your bottom line.

Multiply that by 5% now. Your wildest dreams have come true!

I remember when GGG tried to change daily master missions to two random missions per day, and people went ballistic...so they changed it back to 5. And this is the end result.

Now they are taking away the maps bonus for awakening levels..again people are ballistic..

LoL. You guys really think GGG changes stuff without thinking. Truth is, people whine about stuff without even thinking.

on the same way that some people skip league content, or some people like to farm all of those. Is only personal preference. 2 dailys per day is too low if you like to farm one specific master like in my case where i like niko and jun for example, don't found very boring einhar and alva.

overall i think most of this change are bad, i don't complain map drops because last league was probably the easiest one to sustain in years, but the conqueror system, the need of having stock of many maps if you want to farm conquerors because of less chance if you do the same map, the new awakening system and the idea of farming all the atlas again for the awakening bonus is so tedious. Also if you completed awakening bonus and like to level new chars you will have to deal with the 24% effect on map mods that is a complete shit.

That kind of thing doesn't matter. Having 5 master missions every day at the start of the league matters. 2 months in, who cares? 2 random ones a day, even 2 months in, super sucks no matter what. But, a very different argument is being made here.
(2-3-2019) Buff underused skills (3.23?!)+ selfcast, stop nerfing defense, build in threshold jewels (3.23?!), implement D3-style looting, add death log + MTX preview, actually rework flasks, stop balancing around the .01%, unnerf Harvest, ADD NEW WAYS TO LEVEL, finally implement Loot 2.0
The common reaction in this thread is to gripe about being forced to trade to sustain your maps and progress through the endgame. I feel that there is an elephant in the room however, and that is the trade system currently in the game. It forces you to be at your keyboard to buy or sell. It forces you to be at the mercy of the market flippers in POE. Progression is sometimes utterly halted because you have to choose between map sustain or equipment upgrades. The market flippers know this.

If a psuedo auction house style with a "buy it now" feature trade system just for maps was implemented, the nerf to map drops would be irrelevant because that manual, boring, and tedious process of purchasing maps would be gone curtailed.

Map sustain is possible with vender recipes, Zana and horizon orbs.

What is the cartographer thing everyone keeps wishing would come back?
that atlas is so bad. i will stay away from that game for a while :'(
So now %increased effect of modifiers of maps(and extra boss life) is locked to awakened atlas bonus, which you can't uncomplete, seems like a bad idea, I myself never unsocketed watchstones after getting them all but im sure not everybody wants that difficulty increased all the time and like the possibility of lowering it at some times.

The extra % of maps droping an extra tier up was fine and was more than enough incentive to complete awakened bonuses.

feels like ''this is a buff''
