Really GGG???

I just watched Cutedog's video at youtube how to improve game performance. I followed his instructions ( i disable some sounds) and instantly i gained 40 more FPS. Another one case we (the playerbase) took actions to play the game properly. I think that you should check the video and have a talk with your sound engineer. Every day you (as company) push me a little further away from your game...
P.S. The game sucks without sounds but i prefer it than the freezing, lagging, crashing we have the last months...

40 more fps? From what to what? 2 fps to 42 fps is a whole lot different than 102 fps to 142 fps.

i didn't gain 40 FPS but it definitely helped me out as well - mostly vs the new influenced mobs. they seem terribly unoptimized

it isn't much of a surprise though. your computer has to calculate all of those sounds and its the same thing with PoE over and over, there is just such an abundance of information at any given time that things get overloaded. whether its your cpu or the internet connections/ways it transfers information.

it isn't really GGGs fault per say. its only an issue because we kill thousands of enemies a minute with hundreds of thousands of things of information being calculated and transferred etc etc

i try it and i can't even bear it for an hour. play a video game without sound is one of the worse experiences.

I thought you are joking until I tried it, zero visible lag, smooth running everywhere.

However I turned master volume and chat alerts back on, since I do a lot of trading while afk in Poe and browsing internet.

I used --nosound

Improvements: Fast login, zero lag and stutter, run free lag everywhere.
Cons: No trade chat sounds.

ya you don't want to turn off every single piece of sound. i basically just turned off sound effects music and ambient. still rolling master, dialogue, chat alerts and loot filter of course

i remember hearing Jonathan talk about it and he gets so frustrated because people keep saying stuff like this. he mentions that the performance issues people experience usually have nothing to do with the computers etc but with the internet and data transfer processes...and they just don't have too much control over that stuff

Some people will never believe that anything which goes wrong is anything but malicious disregard for them and their time / money investment by the evil corporation they hate but continue to give their time / money to.

As for the thread indeed, turning sounds off and having another tab for whatever music you enjoy works best these days.

as I said before.. lets never remember and remind that w3 reforged was happening in this game long before w3 reforged actually happened.
