Sirus fight is making me quit POE
GGG cares but they are less than capable of creating a balanced fight where u dont need a glass canon to avoid completely and utterly brain dead mechanics, aka infinite teleport and die beams for 2 minutes straight zero mechanics he just bugs out aka replicates someones brain that buged out

" While I agree that Sirus is still a bad boss, I disagree that GGG is incapable of creating a balanced boss. Maven, for example, is perhaps the best boss they've ever made. All of her attacks are telegraphed with no hitscan, and those that are have a very obvious "don't stand here" field. The only thing I dislike about her fight is the memory puzzle. She should set the bar for all endgame bosses going forward, we need more like her and less like Sirus. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

its actually really bad cuz of the fires on the ground. the nerfs to flame dash has made this problem even worse. if sirus decides to land on a bad spot, thing will get nasty quickly.
the fight feels really bad overall. Also there's the problem of the hitbox of the vortex storms, and the clusterfudge that will happen if the last phase takes place on the stairs (why are they still there? he should just move to the center by default!) will stop playing this league due to a failed A8 that happened today. And i kinda enjoyed myself. |

I'm simply not willing to go through all of the crap it takes just to spawn the guy so I can attempt to fight him again. Once was enough to convince me that the experience is simply not fun in anyway. It just takes to long to set everything up to get to him, to have to do it all over again when you fail. That part is more frustrating to me than anything else. Failing? No problem. Doing a metric load of tedious crap just to spawn him again, that's were the fun stops for me.
As far as the fight itself, not even seeing what I'm supposed to attack most of the fight or having him unreachable and only actually hiving tiny windows of opportunity to actually engage in fighting the guy is really boring. Running around avoiding stuff for 20 minutes isn't fun. It's sloppy. I want a boss fight to be a tough fight, not a fight that has invulnerability phases that pretty much make you useless for a period of time (most main boss fights in this game). If you have to script a boss fight to force the thing to take longer, then maybe you need to rethink how to make the boss tougher and more fun in the first place. Hurry up and wait doesn't make it harder, it just makes it boring. I'll be happy to see him go (if that's what they have planed for 3.17). Last edited by LennyGhoul#7115 on Dec 1, 2021, 7:13:20 PM

I think Sirus is one of the best bosses in PoE. Loot rivals Elder/Uber Elder and can be viable all league long. Hop into Standard and the same applies. Every drop from Sirus is really good. The sword is amazing, for example, if you wanted to do a Steel Skill Champion. Every single gem has selling potential and is your Watcher's Eye-like chase item. The influenced rares that can drop also have potential since they're i86. The gloves are always fun and even the cheap-o Watchstones can be used. Compare all of that to the trash uniques Shaper and Elder constantly drop and I'll take Sirus all day long.
At this point I will say I like having Sirus as the map system's end game boss compared to Shaper/Elder. Sirus is a much quicker fight compared to both of them and managing the storms isn't hard. |

The biggest issue for me with Sirus is not his skills or dmg or high hp.. I simply cannot see him in that dark and red area. He merges with the terrain and decorations, thats awful. And you notice where is he on the screen just when he casts something, which is usually deadly for you.
PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players. Last edited by judikator#2053 on Dec 5, 2021, 1:11:51 PM

" The only thing that ever made me excited in this game was bossing. Sirus cured my desire to boss. It's now the worst thing possible to do, and zero enjoyment. I literally had 100x more fun killing shaper/elder for the 100th time than sirus. Sirus is just a worthless design from almost every single aspect/angle you could imagine. ALL of it is horrible. All of it. |

" I have bad eyes when it comes to red on red, green on green... I mean we all do, but i'm worse than average. I cannot kill sirus without minion builds, because I never know where he is. IT's the only fight that has ever happened. It's such a visual cluster fuck I can't even tell where the fucking boss physically is.... Not to mention the performance in there is extremely bad, and has been for YEARS now. I sincerely hope they delete sirus moving forward. They can't make the worst thing they've ever designed be the mandatory for ANOTHER year. |

Hello,
the problem of this boss is the same as the biggest problem of this game, so i'm not surprised. I explain. This game is ruled by The Information, at all level information is the key. In this game when you die you dont know why, most of the time, and for many raisons: 1- Screen become overflow by effects and make you unable to see and so understand what happen (this is because the RNG factor of disposition is not ruled, or in a bad way...). If you can't read the screen, you can't get informations (paradox of POE) Can be fixed by intelligently highlight sources of dmg over effects... 2- You have no informations when you die. What mobs? what kind of damage? Bonus to avoid? Stun?... There is nothing so it's the same paradox, no informations on a game ruled by Information. Can by easly fixed... For this boss who spam abilities from uncontrolled rng on a map with no lisibility and off screen instant one shot, it follow the same logic of construction. GGG please respect your own rules and stop put uncrontrolled rng claming difficulty cause it's more easy to code... Difficulty is subtile, here you are far from this. You go from too hard to too easy, no alchemy anywhere. A hard fight is a long fight, there is no long fights in this game (longuests fights can be done in few secondes, the animations become the most longuest part of the fight, pathetic... it's the opposite of a epic fight). So, one shot (too easy) or be one shot (too hard) is the result of rng and bad/no work, and the center of this game. Enjoy. |
