Sirus fight is making me quit POE

I have killed Sirus on awakener 8 around 20 times or so.

Some months ago I failed (6 bad RNG deaths) and that made me very angry since the RNG in the fight just murdered me, sometimes before even getting to the boss (I am melee).
It took me 3 hours to setup Sirus, and I got basically nothing from the whole 3 hours of my life. That made me uninstall the game.

Today I came back after months of not playing, I setup Sirus again, and failed again to his RNG bullshit.
Uninstalled again.
I don't want to play a game that can literally waste my time for nothing at all because of RNG, especially when I have such a good character that can clear everything else in the game with ease.

I don't see myself coming back to this game, before Sirus I think the game was perfect, and I understand I can just ignore Sirus but it feels awful to ignore such an important boss (since you get it when mapping and it drops huge loot).

I doubt all the developers of this game actually plays it like us players do. They probably don't even know all the very serious problems of the game (like this Sirus problem).

My general impression from doing my first Sirus fight is that it's extremely counterintuitive.

I had to look up why he was just floating in the sky.

Apparently you are supposed to be under him, so he gets off his high chair?

Like what? How are we supposed to know this? I had to look this up.

I managed to get him down to 60% even not knowing this and ripping all portals, though, so looking forward to trying again?

the awful color palette is of course the primary problem. but the weird floating thing and "where the hell did he go ?" is a close second.

i've only beat him once in 5 tries and i did it with a golem build. why ? because the golems knew how to find him even though i couldn't...

but really, the entire lack of contrast is just excruciating. virtually all of my deaths are because i can't see the sparkly lights to get you out of the maze.
GGG add a boss that only need minimal gears but have patterns that need to be learned in 10minutes youtube video -> Noooo GGG why the game is so hard, this guy is unbeatable even with ultra huge dps. this is supposed to be an arpg game. no need to ad unfun mechanics. you cant expect casuals to learn all of this! We cant play 24/7.

GGG add a boss that need big stats to beat -> Noooo GGG what is this? He 1shots me, and only beatable with 100ex gears. How can we beat this? so unfair for casuals. we can't play 24/7!

Some of the fights need more visual clarity for sure. but seriously, try to learn the game guys. I was dumpstered by sirus and his friends mainly al-hezmin. and I raged..., but then I try to learn stuffs so the bosses become much easier.

I can't see anything in this damned fight. It's a mess. [Removed by Support] And every visual effect is half the screen, flashing like it want to give me a seizure. I understand the mechanics [Removed by Support], but I can't see anything.

Pretty sure I've never seen anything worse than that in any game. And yeah, I will probably adapt to this [Removed by Support] fight sooner or later (unless they will change it again), but I sure as hell will never enjoy it.

Perhaps I'm an idiot, but I watched the videos three times before the first time I fought Sirus so I would know what to expect. I didn't really get the cues for meteor even knowing there were cues.

To me, half the problem is that the mechanics are hard to follow even having watch videos. Say what you will about the conquerors, but you don't need videos, you have a rough idea of how they're attacking, they're kind of broadcast. If you don't struggle with content regularly, the fights are straightforward. Sirus is ridiculous, those chaos storms are ridiculous and god help you if you've died and Sirus uses rain of stars or meteor when you come close. Then there's the clone phase which is the part I'm still kind of confused on and not a fan of at all: I mean really taking a look and seeing what Sirus looks more red, seriously! Ditch the clone roulette phase and chaos storms and I think the fight is reasonable.

The next part is accessibility. Like everyone says, it takes 60 maps. It's not like uber atziri where you can simply buy the fragments up and get the extra practice, it takes so much time to even reach Sirus, it's not really my idea of a good time. My proposed solution like I'm sure a lot of people have suggested is have conquerors drop a fragment when they're killed. These 4 fragments can be used to fight Sirus. Until you obtain all 4 fragments, a defeated conqueror can't respawn.

The benefits of this are 1) Sirus is a lot more accessible for regular players so we can get time to learn the fight 2) SSF can continue to function without any issues 3) If we know we're not ready for Sirus, we can save the fragments up until we think we have a decent shot. In the meantime, we can keep acquiring watchstones and prepare ourselves for the fight.

I would love it. Even though the fight itself would stay as shitty as it is now, I could practice more, save the fragments for better days, or simply ignore the whole thing and sell the fragments right away.

Really despise the Sirus fight... please progress the story already and get rid of this stupid encounter. Also, I feel absolutely nothing after defeating him, at least with Elder / Shaper I felt like I made a difference to the Atlas and Wraeclast, like there was a history behind the whole conflict, and I was part of it.

I tried Maven today. BIG mistake; she’s far harder than a8 Sirus, who I’ve beaten many times but still gets me tilted every time (and I failed at him today kind of unexpectedly).

I just don’t really like how GGG designs endgame boss fights. Maybe it’s my internet, but the constant input lag and double-dashing and stuff in these fights really makes bullet hell unpalatable. I don’t have the capability of using ethernet, but that seems to be a requirement if you want to take on anything hard in PoE.

I think the best mental approach is to accept that this content simply isn’t for me. It’s for people who are good at entirely different game genres. Luckily it’s easy to make currency without bothering with frustrating bosses.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.
I love getting die beam from off screen. It just feels right, you know. It's something you would expect from this game.

I am not a Sirus big fan, but, Common guys, complain about dying to storms is "jokes on you". Not that I have never died to them, but is usually my fault due to rush or recklessness.

And yes, I do agree that off screen shots are some pain in the a!!. I only start to do Sirus I little bit comfortable when I got a really high overcap resist (about 130 ele and 120 chaos) and 72/75 block chance. If I may, there is some things that I like to share to be considered on this fight:

1- Mind your flasks.
2- Quality of your sound to spot Sirus attacks.
3- High DPS, specially for not tankier builds.
4- Some skill to spot Sirus, if not your main, just to spot when off screen.
5- Know the mechanics of this fight, including STORMS.
6- Keep moving when you lost him from sight.

About number 4, I have being using VD to fight him and it is awesome when you reach a decent dps. All balls go to Sirus, therefore I spot him even offscreen and know to where to dodge. When I miss dodging, my block chance tends to help me.

And about Flasks I see often people saving them for his last fase which is wise. What I did was craft "Gain a Flask Charge when you deal a Critical Strike" on my belt (hunter influence) and I can use them more often.

If it is still to hard, just skip him or sell the fight through #global chat. And stay away to Hall of grandmaster for your sake.

Good luck!

Exiles, pffff!
