Sirus fight is making me quit POE

Always thought the Sirus fight was easy after the rework in delirium, then I play dodge build in A9, Sirus just loves to use Die offscreen and Be Silent spawning right on top of me so there's literally no time to dodge RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT. Thanks GGG! Awesome design. Super easy to read abilities yet it's complete rng for nontank builds. Awesome. -Poison BV user.

There's almost 70 pages of Sirus complaints now. Does anyone have a video recording of themselves struggling against Sirus? There are so many reasons thrown around in this thread about how bad this fight is. I'm genuinely curious to just see an example of one of your fights against Sirus.

This is how my fights go. I will concede that I'm using a ranged dot build, so that makes the fight simpler. I imagine it will be much harder with fast hitting melee builds.

Its even easier than you think. Stand in melee range of Sirus and you don't take any damage from his attacks. These guys don't post clips of them losing to Sirus because they will just get laughed at.

You still see players complaining about offscreen because they are more interested in burning portals and whinging. He always teleports in the direction he is facing. Once you know this, keeping track of him is easy. Even if you do lose him, for whatever reason, you can just run in a circle and it is unlikely that you will get hit by one of his attacks.

I too got super frustrated at this...but...

I know this is gonna sound too simple but...learn his mechanics and TURN ON THE DIALOGUE SOUND. It actually helps a ton with this fight.

First to phases you wanna stand literally on him and you are fine.

Basically try to always literally stand on top of him.

After he does the clouds, wait and relax. Stay a bit outside of his range of attacks and wait for the cloud to move along.

Outmaneuver all the crap on the ground and get back right below him.

Dont instantly attack once he gets down. Wait to see where he ports (this is where dialogue sounds and turning off your music really help)

Third phase is the crappiest one as it can be difficult to keep track of him.

He turns to where he ports before he ports. Pay attention.

Follow him, stand on him, make sure to be aware of his beam of death that comes in a sort of quadruple installment. pew, pew, pew and big pew.

That beam is also not stagnant as he can reposition it slightly after each pew.

Just move in circles around him and you get out of his circular movement range and can attack a bit.

When he does the spiral with 4 dudes pewing 4 beams together, dont attack.

Be patient. He will port after and either does multi-dude-confusion circle where one of his clones attacks or he does the death beam.

Dialogue sound helps whilst he creates the beamspiral to see which of the 4 he is.

Again make sure to follow him and STAND ON HIS ASS. You can attack him!

Basically practice this and I promise the fight will become significantly less rng heavy and bad.

Dont forget that you will die sometimes for no apparent reason or he ports off screen or you are too slow or whatnot. Dont fret. Come back. Listen to where he is. Run below him. Wait for him to come down.

Repeat.

Managed him with 1 death. And trust me when I say: I am anything but good at poe. Just average.

The fact that you had to type all of that out and have the player PERFECTLY follow this while being able to differentiate one cluster vomit on the screen from another (the amount of screen clutter in this game is mind blowing, and this fight is a crystal example)...
This explanation is the perfect example of expecting too much from your playerbase if we are being pigeonholed into portal attempts. But even if those limited attempts were removed, it doesn't fix the core issue, its just a bandaid.

Fight is garbage, everyone knows it no matter how many white knights who live and breathe this game will try to gaslight us into thinking its fine.

I will not even activate this encounter in the future, and will warn my friends to avoid it at all costs and tell them its broken. It is, and unless its fixed, the Sirus encounter that the developers spent time on, can sit there and rot.

What our mean as a casual player is, we totally have limited TIME to play. And u know rite the poe build is kinda wide. u need to balance resist and ES/HP,damage some more. i have tried build up Frost Blade (melee) but the thing is, its expensive as f..

This is my 3rd time building Frost blade. spent like 7ex something. max i can build is HP just 5K n damage only 6 mil..but still die at T15 Corrupted Foundry Map with Maven witness. The boss inside there already monster plus with maven support, it become monstrous. and i dont think i got time to repeat that fight again.

So GGG, this league will be my last league even i just bought few cosmetic. But i realize that i really need to more care on my mental healthness and my life balance. I enjoy killing mob but stress killed by the boss. Thanks.
Ye it's not good. I can never work out how the image linking works lol.

We tested it extensively

GGG are clueless when it comes to boss designs. From Atziri having elemental reflect, making 1/3 of the builds unplayable, to Maven's 5 tile memory game, while having to avoid 5 rotating beams that basically one shot you regardless of build and the scuffed camera distance, so you can't see which platform are lit up, which btw are barely visible in the first place... There isn't a single endgame boss, in the game, that doesn't have a rage inducing gimick attached to him.

In all fairness, Sirus was much, much, much worse, when he was released. You would die once and fail the instance, because your path was blocked by his black balls.
Deathless till last stage then he decides to teleport to edge of screen 6 times in a row and one shot me each time. Great game design thanks GGG. Only reason I ever bother trying to kill him is to get to Karui shores epilogue then I ignore him since he's so soul suckingly unfun to kill.
Only thing worse than this is having to manually click on doors to open them in maps ;)
+1 for visibility/bump

My general impression from doing my first Sirus fight is that it's extremely counterintuitive.

I had to look up why he was just floating in the sky.

Apparently you are supposed to be under him, so he gets off his high chair?

Like what? How are we supposed to know this? I had to look this up.

I managed to get him down to 60% even not knowing this and ripping all portals, though, so looking forward to trying again?

Spawned Sirus 4 times within the span of 1-2 weeks. All of them failed miserably. I find myself bored to play anymore.

The mechanics are fine there just the following issues of
~ The fight is heavily dark, red, and black with dashes of grey. With Sirus blending in too well when he teleports.
~ The projection eats up some screen space i could use to see where Sirus teleports
~ No reliable way to regain flask charges, moreso with quicksilver flask during the maze.
But the biggest one is
~ Everything is happening way too fast.

I did the last fight without watchstones slotted to see if it made any difference and ye off screen DIE beams are still BS especially during the last phase where i have to dodge a rotating beam and avoid ground pukes.
For my first attempt at this boss i didn't watch any footage, since i thought i could figure it out myself. Needless to say it was a terrible experience. The issues i had were unintuitive bahavior and and lack of visual clarity. It wasn't a matter of him doing too much damage or beeing to quick it was a matter of tying to figure out where (and what) he is and when i can do damage to him. The graphical clarity issues are amplified by all the teleporting and mirroring he does. After watching a video i was able to beat him on Awakening level 4 with a very tanky build.
Even when i knew what i was supposed to do it was incredibly annoying to play since i have to use 90% of my focus to figure out where the boss is standing and if i can hit him.
Making the boss disappear / invulnerable without any indication where he went and when you can target him is not a challenge, it is just frustrating.
So please, add some different colors. Make it clear when he is invulnurable, make it clear what the boss is, a mirror image or an avatar. Don't make him dissapear. Add an icon to the minimap to indicate the position of the boss.
I thought the meteor maze and the walls were cool, but why do they have to blend into the background, making it so difficult to see the exit.
