I was able to solve the problem by updating my graphics card drivers. I don't know if that is the solution for everyone, but there was a new version for my GTX 660 released less than two weeks ago (12/10).
Hope that helps some. (And a note: The temporary solution of using the 32 bit version with that flag actually did make the game seem much smoother for me, but it only delayed the inevitable FPS drop.) |

Updated my graphics card driver. Launch POE x64 - fps drops to 5 after second blood aqueduct run. Close game, launch POE x32 - fps drops to 3 in a half blood aqueduct. :D

I also updated my driver and went about an hour (!) without my FPS crashing again. I was so full of hope :(

The driver update doesnt do anything, play for 5 minutes, open up the passive tree --> enjoy 8 fps. Its just that sometimes u can play for a while until you suddenly cant... Because your memory is not filled up yet. The new driver might be more efficient, but it does not fix any problem on GGG's end. See you guys in january... Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
