What League would you like to see in future?

This is just a discussion topic, not a suggestion etc...

Animate Guardian is my second favourite skill in the game. I think it goes back to good old D2 Merc days, and because it mixes an element of hardcore with softcore.

I was thinking it would be cool if they revamped this skill by having a league mechanic that revolved around an ancient crafting system to craft AG specific gear to equip to it. Gear that you could apply mods to that shape the way you'd like to build a guardian, meaning he'd be a decent consideration for any build.

Craftable helmet mods that apply a "skill gem" to AG, such as applying an aura(buff or curse), the ability to use a basic attack skill or a warcry. Given these would be specific, they could be managed and balanced.

They could buff the default AG to have a cooldown movement skill like leap slam that functions the same as kativa heralds for instance.

And with the new feeding frenzy and meat shield, you could set his AI to your preference.

You could have crafting components to make the mods through a league mechanic, and therefore lost AG gear wouldn't be extremely expensive to replace, but would still keep that hardcore vibe.

Would be cool to get some MTXs for him too, such as a smokey body effect or something, rather than just mr invisible.

What kind of league would you want to see?

a league that doesn't seem to be designed specifically to expose the engine's weaknesses would be neat.

Would love to see another 9 month Legacy league until 4.0 was done.
I think the OP idea is really good - I'd get excited about that league!

I was thinking about stackable currency: Each league has something that takes up stash space, adds to character power, and also which helps GGG make money. I was thinking what could replace this model, since the oils, splinters, essences, scarabs, orbs, etc. are just a little tedious at present.

The OP suggests currency that upgrades gear, which would be more of the same, but also using the AG to generate MTX sales, which might be a nice change from yet more stackable currency.

My first idea for a league in the future is 'Immortals', which are monsters that are trying to do something bad, as usual, but are practically immortal vs one damage or more damage types. The rewards for league progression are that it becomes easier to share power/items with party members as you progress, which allows you to defeat the immortals, and stop them doing the bad thing, as usual. Some immortals might be so immortal that the only way to defeat them would be surviving, which would make tanks a happier option to play, and the clearspeed meta less pervasive. Sharing of power can be across your own characters for those who don't like party play.

My other idea 'fairies' is for the league mechanic to be more of a rogue-like dungeon crawler (like that excellent old game mordor II - darkness awakening).
Players can spend real money on making their fairies more visible (Fairies can be either friend or foe.)
This time, party play lets you crawl the dungeon (fairyland) in groups without the hassle of lag (since the graphics are so crappy unless you spend money). It would also make a new class of 'explorer' become appealing because the fairyland is full of traps and stuff that need exploring. So characters that buff utility like light radius can become appealing, and once again the clearspeed meta has another challenger.

Optimization league as suggested on reddit where each zone has two elements of a prior league and most of the development went to creating graphical sliders/options and additional optimizations.
IGN: Arlianth
Check out my LA build: 1782214
An alchemy league. Completely reworking flasks.

Make it so flasks last longer, but are way weaker, and they have their own amount of charges each one earns that's generally a lot less. Flask buffs from the tree and gear would be stronger and more abundant. And add a crazy crafting system so you can customize and create your own sweet flasks.

I desperately want this. The alchemy theme with the flasks was one of the biggest things that made me super interested in the game when I first looked into it. It was pretty underwhelming actually experiencing it. Still great though, in comparison to what pretty much any other game is doing.

Edit: Typo.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

Optimization league seems very attractive to everyone who played the game for a while and perhaps even for new players interested in the game but are playing with medium-end computers - unable to play the game effectively.

I personally would like a league that introduces a simpler way to get to maps for players who already did the story. Features would be as follows:

1) if an account has a character which went through all the acts and has access to the prologue, the account has the option to create a "race" (Lack of a better term) character.

2) Race characters go through one-time accessible maps and fight a unique monster at the end of the map.

3) The end of each map has a chest containing Quest-specific rewards.

4) Portal scrolls lead to your hideout or the prologue.

5) The waypoint would be rigged to only send you to the beginning of your last one-time accessible map. Quest rewards if obtained already would no longer appear when opening the chest. (Good way to grind if your feeling insecure?)

6) After a certain amount of opened chests special features appear in the maps for example: Hideout Masters appear, events such as Betrayal encounters or Abyssal Troves, and access to maps.

7) After the character has access to maps, it may visit any act but has no access to any waypoint and all the quests are already "finished" or disabled. You could make an incentive for exploration maybe? Perhaps even introduce an "alternative zones mechanic" that have monsters that are appropriate to your level while still looking like the old zones?

There's probably more to be fleshed out but I had fun thinking about a league like this.

yep.
or three legacy leagues with lots of qols, reworks, balancing. i think the game has enough content already for months ahead.
dead game
bring back 3.13
Path of Exile: OPTIMIZATION
I don't care as long as they release it without bugs... i would love to play a league where there is no gamebreaking bugs from the start to end... it is simply too much and i don't understand why people are not more angry at this point.
