Performance and Stability

I bet having the ability for each player to turn off all the extra graphical effects that we currently cannot, such as the MTX of others, would lighten the load and strain for everyone and everything involved in the processing state of the game, making gameplay a bit smoother for all as a result of such options being made available to each player. Just something to think about GGG as this perhaps is just one workable variable to the complex cake of issues that affects the experience of the entire game.

We get enough advertising for new mtx thrown at us on a daily basis, and if the game actually ran smoothly (like when I 1st started playing not long ago at the end of Delve league), I might be so much more inclined to check out the new mtx for myself. Having all that shiny blur etc. thrown in my face on login to a town overloaded with it, is just more processing strain as a collective on the server (esp in peak times).

Perhaps a new option for us to logout in our hideouts and be able to log back into our hideouts could also be of benefit!!!???

Recently there have been a lot of community posts criticising Path of Exile's engine for being slow or not optimised enough.


Those criticizing Path of Exile's engine are fools best ignored.

Path of Exile's current engine is amazing for what it can handle. You guys have made huge improvements over the years. Much respect.
In since Warbands, I've been playing on this pc since almost that time

i5 4670k no overclock
16GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
SSD Samsung 840 Pro
nVidia GTX 1060 6GB (only upgraded this last year, previously 660TI)

Performance are an issue quite a few times, from 120 fps I dip as low as 40fps in very crowded encoounter, yet I feel it's still playable.
Then I remind myself, I'm playing on WINDOWED MODE like most of us, to allow tools like Poe Trade Macro and Mercury Trade to work, since that's impossible in fullscreen.

I've tried fullscreen and performance is really improved with lot less dips, hence part of the problem lies on the mode we use, windowed is known to be unoptimal performance wise

Still, we are forced to use these tools to play the game at a satisfying level, can the windowed mode (being the primary mode used by the community) get an improvement?
If that's not possible, please find a way to make 3rd party tools usable in fullscreen, that would be a great start.



A a sideonote minions are not an issue for me btw, currently playing a Chains of Command build with up to 60 minions active for 90% of my playtime, also with rampage (known to be even more performance stressing), are minions really THAT MUCH of an issue, or is it some kind of minions, like zombies or spectres?
I've leveled another build using zombies and spectres, didn't have any lag at all, but I switched before act 10 so I can't tell for real endgame builds of this kind.

I lag a lot more on my elementalist flicker striker using oro's sacrifice, I oneshot most packs and see much more rubberbanding (in lockstep) than with my minion build (also oneshotting most packs because of their insane attack speed)

Haven't had any lag problems at all even in blight maps.

i5 9600k 3,7 ghz
16 gb ram
radeon rx 580

Freesync with freesync monitor, enhanced sync and chill enabled. 60 hz refreshrate.

Very smooth gaming with no lag at all anywhere. The game feels incredibly well optimized if i'm allowed to be honest.
