I got really lucky this League again...my husband rolled a Ranger that doesn't use any of the A5 jewel rewards, so I had an immediate 2x Violent Dead again! :D I've never found one of these as a random drop, so it makes me super happy when this happens!

I've been using Consecrated Path and I like it a lot...when it works. Playing duo with a Ranger there isn't always a visible monster for me to target, and sometimes it seems to misfire even with monsters on the screen. I'm not sure if it's lag or what the deal is there.

On an unrelated note, I'm actually really grateful your PoB only goes to level 90 vs the passive tree link going to 99. It's great having the author's idea of which points can be trimmed since I usually only make it to the mid-80s on a character, so thanks for that :)
Awesome. 2 Violent Dead right off the bat. Sweet.

I haven't run into any misfires with the leap portion of the skill yet. I'll keep my eyes open.

I like trying to make the trees to 90. I think I have the RF one at 89. I'm glad it's been helpful!

Thanks for the post!

You raise something that I find quite topical. As someone who likes to bolt on a few extra passives onto the build, I am always on the lookout for things that could be left out.

Currently, besides what WOD has already trimmed, I feel pretty comfortable leaving out the 10% Minion Life to the right of Death Attunement and the 10% Minion Damage to the left of Lord of the Dead (just because they have no additional benefits while other passives combine in other stuff or are needed to get somewhere).

There are a couple of things that I wonder about and I would be interested in what others have concluded.

Minion Flat Damage vs Minion Attack Speed: beyond the pure POB damage number, does anyone have any reasons for prioritizing one over the other? Currently I favour Flat Damage on the theory that more one shots are better (also why I currently lean toward using Mon'tregul's).

Minion Accuracy: if the Wiki is to be believed, then the Zombie Slam can no longer be evaded since 3.2 (in the version revision footnotes for Raise Zombie). Once you get 2X Violent Dead, and Bone Sculptor, I'm not sure how much Minion Accuracy benefits your Minions possibly lowering the value of the passive nodes containing Zombie Accuracy.

As I said, I'm curious what other people thing about it.

On the topic of opinions, is anyone else highly amused by the text of the new "Dark Dreams" Divination Card? I'm also curious about how the Fortify changes might affect my gem selections.
My Personal preference is Damage. The higher the initial damage, the greater the impact of Chill.

In terms of the Slam, I focus on the slam of the zombies as their "primary" attack because it always hits. At least, that's what the information we have says. But the zombies aren't slamming 100% of the time, so the value of accuracy/leech is preference.

I love Dark Dreams. :)

In regards to Fortify, the changes 3.7 brought to the gem added 7000+ DPS PER Zombie Slam :). Melee Physical still does more damage though. But I'm waiting for PoB to update Close Combat Support. That may be better than Melee Physical. We'll have to see.

Great questions. I'm interested in what people have to say to them as well!

What do you think about

1) dropping hatred, and picking up pride for the 39% increased phys dmg taken; and

2) dropping temporal chains / blasphemy for flesh and stone? another 30% maim dmg or permanent blind / 10% decreased dmg taken seems great, for about 10% less mana reservation

3) dropping about 5-6 points somewhere to pick up necromantic aegis, for victario's charity? the frenzy/power charges on the shield seem too good to pass up, and we could probably free up points from whispers of doom if 2nd curse is not required (i.e. if F&B replaces chains)

currently using carnage ape and host chieftain spectres for frenzy/power charges, but i don't think they have enough mana to keep up 3x charges unless we run clarity or blood magic - aegis could allow us to get a mob that gives end charges / proximity shield
Hey spectrearc,

All Physical offense! I like it. As walkjohn55 mentioned, slow has it's defensive perks, but it's by no means required :). So go for it! The changes you suggest would be very strong! I like it a lot. If I wasn't so turned on by slowing enemies I'd likely have the guide setup in some way like you suggested.

As long as you're living and killing, you've made good choices. So picking up NE is awesome. REALLY strong with the right shield. Just make sure you're alive.

Good modifications! I like it. Let us know how it goes!

hi,

Your pastebin for PoB didn't work for me. i got SSL error, and when i switched it to http, instead of https, it did wokr.

Just a tip in case i am not the only one.

Hey EnsKW,

That's nice of you. Thanks for the heads up. The PoB creator recently just fixed some of the errors that were popping up. The same code should work fine now. (Everyone, remember that the Pastebin link has a special section to input it.)

I made the Loot Filter sexy.

I also expanded the items that drop to everything our natural attributes can cover.

How are folks handling Legion monoliths? I usually wind up running through the crowd looking for mobs/chests with loot icons, then hit them with CP and drop a few skeletons in hopes of breaking them out. It works a lot of the time but not all the time and am wondering if there's anything I could be doing better/different.

Close Combat Support doesn't work with minions, sadly.

Hey saintonan,

Nice to hear from you. I hope that's not true. I was really excited for that gem for this build when it was announced. Where did you hear that? Close Combat Support is broken in path of building right now. It gives no damage to almost any link. I keep checking Path of Building every day to see if that gem has been updated. (Just in case that's your source.)

(just a high level look at your gear only)

There is a veiled prefix mod that gives +1 to both Zombies and Skeletons, and which can be put on Helms and Body Armour. Almost always, it turns out to be the best mod one can add to these items for this Build.

I can't tell if you have an open prefix on your Helm (Item Rarity can be both a prefix and a suffix), but if you do, I would change the crafted mod. If you do not have an open prefix, it is a little tricky because that is a very fine Helm as it is and getting one with +2 Minion skills and decent Life plus an open prefix could be a challenge. Same advice for your Body Armour.

If you have not unveiled that mod yet, then you will need to unveil Helms and Body Armour until RNG gives it to you.

I suggest keeping your eye out for a better shield. The increased Spell Damage probably does not do a whole lot for you, and other bases tend to have a higher Block Chance. There are also some interesting uniques out there (but not all of them have 70+ Life).

Keep a lookout for replacement items with better resists and Life - at some point you may get enough to allow you to change to a Minion mod to your weapon (if one fits, I did not work it out).

When you get to Mapping,

Spoiler
there is a crafted mod located in the upper left of Oriath that gives the best crafted movement speed.

You are doing well, and the Build will allow you to go even further.
