Steelskin is a joke, only 2200 dmg that can be prevented? Molten Shell can prevent up to 10000 and deals a lot of dmg! I don't see any reason to take Steelskin, even Immortal Call looks better.

Steelskin stops all damage. Molten Shell only physical damage
Awesome!! So hyped. Gosh damnit I want to be a kid again and not have a job

That's not true, both say "damage from hits taken"!

Steelskin is one of three Guard skills, alongside Molten Shell and Immortal Call. These skills are all Instant and share a cooldown which won't expire while any of the skills are active. Both Molten Shell and Immortal Call have received significant changes which give them a more active playstyle that rewards quick reaction times. However, they're still triggerable if you prefer to use them more mindlessly.

Molten Shell now grants armour while active and a damage barrier that absorbs 75% of damage taken. The maximum damage that it can absorb is based on 20% of your total armour, making it a powerful choice for high Armour characters. It also lasts slightly longer than Steelskin. When Molten Shell absorbs its maximum damage or when the duration ends, all of the absorbed damage is dealt as reflected damage in an area around you, with a large damage multiplier.

A DOT is no Hit dmg.

Immortal Call should reduce DOT dmg, it doesn't say "from hits".

Also-molten shell depends on armor, steelskin does not.

You need to have 11045 armor for molten shell to match stellskin in terms of damage absorption (technically 10187 as molten shell grants some armor built in)

And a shorter cooldown. it does not seem like much, but its 4 steelskins every 12 seconds to just 3 molten shells.

Steelskin isn't an autotake amazing defensive tool, but it has merits.
Not sure if enough merits, but I'm hardly the build maker number cruncher.
Steelskin is a new defensive skill which is available very early in the game. It instantly hardens your skin, granting a damage barrier that absorbs 70% of all damage taken. It has a maximum amount of damage that it can absorb, which increases as the gem levels. It only lasts a few seconds, and has a short cooldown, so you'll need to time your use of the skill to protect you from dangerous enemy attacks.

"all damage taken" This is only physically damage?
I do not understand
WHY so many different powerlevels of gems now??+ Cyclone is way better in ALL stats and effects than any other gem. Heavystrike got next to nothing., lol???
Some skills get added 100 flat phys and others dont, but recieve massive speed nerf. Very strange...
And added elemental damage is just silly bad for conversion attacks...

heavy strike was the go to skill for singletarget and it was buffed. it still reigns supreme as pure singletarget, and with the new stun mechanics for melee damage it's insane.

Well, looks like whirling blades will still be pretty much the top tier movement skill because all of the new ones have pretty pointless cooldowns.
Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive.
Patch Notes 3.19:
Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment.
