Here's a preview of Lacerate in Path of Exile: Legion!

this is the game where professional streamers that play this game on a "pro" level and have done everything under the fucking sun with their super op builds and unlimited investment capabilities just walk around and instantly die to some bullshit

and this is the game you think melee will be "fixed" by having a FEW extra buttons to push in anticipation of said scenarios?

blood stands, sand stance, dash thing to avoid dmg, immortal call/molten shell or whatever other defensive thing you want.

guys. it isn't going to work.
granted these stances will be easier to manage because you won't NEED to swap mid fights. you can essentially run sand stance for the map and blood stance for the boss. but even that will feel like an unnecessary step eventually

i agree 100% with captainwarlord on this one. this gimmicky crap is just gimmicky

Yikes. For some reason you guys wanna push this "switch switch switch" style of play on us. Which doesn't fucking work in a game like this. Wake up.

Omg right? Like NO ONE switches gems for aoe vs single target, I can't believe how blind GGG is like get woke right.

It's a buff skill. That lets you pick two versions of a single skill. The things people will bitch about.
This. Looks. AMAZING! Good work GGG. Looking forward to playing this.
Someone now get me a controller!
This sentiment was summed up by a member of our design team who recently said "We don't want to take away the feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item, scared to see whether you ruined it or not."

YOLO!

That apparently reserves 25% of Mana. It's gonna be buggy on release. Wanna bet?

What?

We're talking about your overreaction to a skill, not whether it's going to be buggy on release.
As someone who played lacerate during the synth event -

This type of behavior could be a great improvement. I hated swapping Inc AoE for Conc Effect in bossing. So much so that I just respecced it at 82 into a completely different melee build. If the price is 25% mana reservation - so be it.

Bex - you didn't answer my question on Twitter... Cleave does damage now right? ;) I am 100% doing a cleave starter and hoping not to be disappointed.

Sounds convenient to be able to use one skill gem for both a clearing and bossing skill. Wonder how effective it can be for both instances.

I've enjoyed the current Lacerate, but felt it was kinda lacking. Will definitely try this one out day 1!
Really, we're complaining about the convenience of having one skill that does both bosses and maps without having to swap gems to optimize?
Even tho i do like the idea of beeing able to clickswitch between map and bossing skill i dont think thats how its gonna work out actually, i mean its still gonna have the 5 support gems for either bossing or mapping optimized and then its either really bad if ur gear is bad or not even needed if ur gear is great. whatever different visuals is cool enough for me...
without stats on the "skill gem"

no comment where the skill will become enjoyable or not
