[3.7] Rake's Tectonic Slam Equipment Guide - from League Start to Endgame

Here is what i changed, what do you think ?

6L : tectonic slam - melee phys - EDWA - rage - fortify - pulverize

berserk instead of enlighten to get heavy burst on bosses

blood and sand - blood stance instead of war banner

CDWT and assassins mark in gloves

close combat instead of fortify in leap slam so it proc itself when you jump onto mobs

But a quick question, why are we using Hatred over Herald of Ash?
Only 64 just want to toss in some random stuff

Pretty sure The Tempestuous Steel swords can/will carry you to white maps, basically 2 shotting most mobs and haven't switched weapons yet

There will be a lot of min/max, I don't think dmg will be an issue as a Chieftain so I think the focus will be staying alive

CWDT linked to Purifying Flame for Concerted ground should be a good option

Its looking Close Combat is the goto for single target for boss fight

Flesh/Stone is nice but have a feeling Sand Stance will be better for the dmg reduction from ranged mobs..... so far 99% of the mobs I kill are outside of the maim range AND end game will most likely be a Maim chest, there is also a 20% chance to maim node when we crit in the tree now... Dismembering

Overall really fun build, fuck multistrike... and once you get the helm enchant we may need to use Endurance Charge on stun as a 6link or possibly Discipline of the Unyielding, pretty decent Endurance bonus with a 5% charge generation on kill
in the new tree, why chose the staves passive?

So i just answer everything. If i don't answer your question it's probably one of the following reasons:

21 Gems are pure luxury. Only get them when you aim for T0 Equip. The PoB is mainly for the Tree and the Equip.

They are not in conflict, using multistrike just lowers the use of Tawhoa by alot. In this case other Ascendancy Nodes are just stronger. If you go Multistrike it more or less means that you give up on endurance charges entirly. And that's fine damage wise. It's more a matter of defense trade off with multistrike.

Currently doing white maps now and so far so good...any1 done uber labs yet? What do you guys think about the last 2 ascendancy points...would you guys pick hinekora over tassalio?

Hinekora is only around 11% more dps for this build. So i wouldn't recommend it. The upsides from Tasalio are just to good to pass in my opinion.

While leveling mana flask and i wouldn't use hatred as long as you have mana problems.

Just spend the 5 Points whereever you get the most damage out of it. If you use PoB, it shows which point will give how much dps (Brutal Blade probably the strongest). You can also just choose additional defense like Soul of Steel.

That probably only works as long as your are not one-shoting/freezing/shattering enemies. And it probably won't work on bosses. But you can always switch later to eye of innocence for endurance charge generation as juggernaut (but that costs ofc a valuable amulet slot).

Hinekora isn't that good. I would highly recommend to switch to Tawhoa.

What do you think about getting "% chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill" on eye jewel? For example:

- flat hp
- crit multi
- onslaught

Herald gives more DPS. But when you lack mana you can choose Herald of Ash instead of Hatred as long as you don't use a watchers eye.

Im finding the damage to be okay, heavily reliant on crits for boss's and rares. Up to t8 now without a problem but I will say for the league mechanic this build is not the best and ill probably re-roll. That being said this has been one of the easiest guides to follow.


PoB got updated. If PoB is correct, Multistrike is a dead Gem now. It shows a DPS increase of 2.5% - which is a joke! Even Fortify gives 35% more Damage. Ruthless 44% more.

I'll update the Gem recommendations in some Hours.

As long as you choose another Melee skill, you can probably just switch Tectonic Slam to another Melee Gem. If the new Melee skill has no Elemental Conversion with it, just skill "Winter Spirit" in the Tree.

And quite good Gear for the third day of the league. Especially because the Items are pretty expensive this League, unfortunally.
Why not go:

Tec Slam - Melee Phys DMG - Elemental DMG - Fortify - Close Combat/Rage/Multistrike - Enurance Charge on melee stun (instead of basically wasting 3 passives on the tree). This setup literally requires no certain %crit chance and feels amazing for me so far. Pulverize is pretty meh honestly as i presonally didn't feel the extra AoE but definietly felt the loss of attack speed w/o Multistrike. Any explanation?
Yeah fuck Multistrike, feels kinda bad now and I don't even think GGG likes it because of performance issues.

Damn you don't think more dmg would fix that? Was hoping it will get better but making rares pop is super rough

May have to switch to Trickster ED/Contagion to farm the league mechanic for a bit
