[3.7] Rake's Tectonic Slam Equipment Guide - from League Start to Endgame
I've noticed a lot of players in this thread commenting on how much more expensive the prices are than what are listed throughout the guide. While this has also been true in my experience, I do feel that the guide was written accurately when it was published. However, with the buffs that were given to melee, and the increased popularity of these builds, it's only natural on the prices for melee oriented gear to inflate.
The +1 Maim chests that everyone running this build desires to grab are also desired by almost (if not every) other melee build played this patch. If you haven't accepted that fact by now, then you will undeniably frustrate yourself into thinking that this has an outrageous price point to be viable.
I cruised through maps all the way up to t8-t9 with the T5 gear, which was only a 15-30c investment. The Ahn's + 6 Link was carrying me through later yellows into early reds fine (albeit slow, and not as fun as I would've liked for it to have been).
If you can have some patience, learn how to earn some currency, and expect for the REAL prices to be a bit higher than what Rake has posted, then you'll maintain your sanity and get to enjoy this build when it really opens up.
Also, big thanks to Clarkseal for his adjustments to this build, which I believe are posted on page ~99 of this thread. If you haven't read some of the adjustment's he's made I highly recommend it for players struggling with mana issues and other concerns.
Oni is a very nice weapon for the build with either Tectonic Slam or Consecrated Path. You just want to build for ignite so you always have Embrace up.
You can use it right from the start and it scales with your level. It's also very inexpensive for a 6L, and allows you to use a 5L or even 4L chest. You will need enough life regen to offset the degen of Embrace, but it's not a big deal. You can see in my PoB that my regen is 2x the degen with consecrated ground. "No regen" maps are not fun, and "60% less regen" means you have to pay a little attention when your leech runs out. But it does very nice damage that is totally synergistic with a fire build.
I have not looked at how much more damage I could get if I invested 20 to 40 ex in the build, with crazy foils and a 6L chest. 800k Shaper DPS on 2 ex is fine. (Close to 1M with flasks up.)
And she talks to you from time to time...
The other big decision is whether to go TS or CP. Tectonic with a lot of area is fun visually and great for clearing. Most of the frustrations I have heard are related to survivability. When I switched to CP, I found the same build to be a lot tankier. With CP you get consecrated ground, 4 (or more) endurance charges up all the time (assuming Warlord's Mark) and a lot of survivability from the CP leap.
If you want to go Oni, you should look at dookleeto's Oni variant of this guide. He is showing twice my DPS with a similar build (although still TS) and I haven't taken the time to look closely at the differences. There are some obvious things like gem quality, but not sure beyond that.
Thank you very much. I'm really really new just started playing POE this season, so I gona keep on TS and I will check the dookleeto's build.

Thank you. I have checked his build.
You have changed from TS to CP? Where is this build? I have been following the PoB and the Pag.1 and never found it.
I got 36 challenges so almost done with the league. Just need the last few exalts to test some stuff before quitting this league. This armour is going cheap and willing to go below market price so PM me in game/forum thanks!
